Richard Buckner is one of my favorites, despite a run of records that haven't really kept up the amazing pace he set with Devotion and Doubt and Since. He's back recording with JD Foster, the bass player (Silos, Syd Straw) and producer, who made those great heartfelt, rumbling and melodic LPs. And his new single is frickin' awesome, a total return to form. There's even a chorus, and it's catchy. He has always toyed with song snippets, raised notions that don't so much resolve as fade into the next one, but here he's created an almost-pop song. Check it here.

My Trusted MOGs
you know, there's actually been numerous posts in the mogOs lately about this kind of "heartfelt" music. some of it is original recordings being uploaded by the bands that made the music (see Blew Monday's mog) and some are just sharing music like buckner's. you should check it out, if you haven't already : http://mog.com/mog-o-sphere
enjoy!
