WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

VINYL VS CD/MP3 ETC...

Just a quick question: Does anyone else have more vinyl records in their collection than CDs or electronic downloads? It's not that I'm a vinyl snob mind you, but for instance, my latest purchase is "Folk Blues Song Fest" featuring artists like Leadbelly, Woody Guthrie and Sonny Terry (his version of "Beautiful City" is stunning). I don't think you would find this on CD...but I could be wrong.

  1. Lady Miss Ian says I USED to have more vinyl than CDs. I for sure have more CDs than downloads. Most of my digital music has been ripped from a CD. And, you are correct, there is still tons of material out there that has not yet or may never make its way into either CD or digital form. That's the crate-diggers prize. ;-)

  3. dermahrk says CDs outstripped vinyl in my collection a long time ago. Even now, I buy a lot more music on CD than MP3s. MP3s are called for when artists produce a couple of great tracks on an otherwise ??meh?? CD. Or soundtracks. I only buy vinyl if the release is either not available on CD or is so excessively expensive that I can't convice my Jiminy Cricket conscience to spring for it. By the way, I *LOVE* that avatar. The guy bears a resemblance to Tom Waits. He just looks so obsessed. Perfect for MOG.
