Ahh... So, perhaps the insanity of the holiday is over. Dinner is done, the relatives have gone home, and the gifts have been unwrapped. The dishes are being cleaned, though, thankfully, not by myself, because I already took my turn at Thanksgiving. Plus, it's not my week to clean the dishes, anyways. So, I've just discovered a few new bands, which always makes me excited. The best part, though, is when you hear a 30 second clip on the computer, and then later find out that it really IS a good album. That's often more satisfying than picking through my dad's music collection. Anyway, I've found The Shins and Swayzak, both of which are pretty cool groups. The Shins remind me, in a way, of some of the old Beatles songs. I mean, of course, the lyrics are different, and their voices sound different as well, but for some reason, they remind me of some of the slower ballads and more minor key songs, like Eleanor Rigby. Swayzak is, as usual, some more electronica music. The "anti-music". Whatever. haha. It's nice to put on as background music when friends are over, when I'm driving, or while I'm doing homework. It kind of serves as a buffer and blocks out the more unpleasant moments of the day.

  1. dj ivi says electronica is anti-music? why? (even if it's not your words, please tell what it means). does swayzak not have vocals/lyrics? i love the way the electronica, without vocals, is so universal, no language barrier.
