Bobby McFerrin

Posted over 2 years ago
I think I had kind of forgotten about Bobby McFerrin, seeing as how it was pushed to the back of my music collection, but I rediscovered it yesterday. I vaguely remember recieving it for a birthday some year... I think his music is actually some of my favorite. The difference of actually having a human voice "play" the music is phenominal. Especially with Hush. I know I tagged this under Spontaneous Inventions, but Hush (Duet album with Yo-yo Ma and Bobby McFerrin) is unlike anything I've ever heard before. I love classical music, but the modifications of the album are what I really enjoy. It's great to hear Vivaldi (one of my personal favorites), Bach, and several others reinvented in a more modern way.

  1. ConQueso says Bobby McFerrin is an incredible talent. I'm consistently amazed at what he can do...and from what i understand, he's a quality conductor as well.

  2. ooeh says Wow - I haven't thought about Bobby McFerrin in a long long time. Over half my life ago, I used to love that Don't worry Be happy instruction.. Then I became a teenager, got into punk rock, angst, depression, therapy and back out the other side.. Now I'm all like, hey kids, don't worry so much! I've also started liking classical music... The time is ripe for me to hear Bobby again. If you know of any good sites where I can hear some goodies, let me know. Thanks!!
