Awwwww...

I don't have a son or daughter of my own. At best I'm Fake Uncle J-Rock to two gorgeous baby sisters and a hell of cute baby boy. Each of whom I do my best to spoil rotten. I just might have to buy "Baby Rock Records'":http://www.babyrockrecords.com "entire catalogue":http://www.babyrockrecords.com/web/page.asp?pgs=products twice over. I mean, how cute is this?!?

  1. Spencer Owen says I heard a clip of their rendition of Radiohead's "Paranoid Android." It was creepy. That song does not translate well to glockenspiels. And Bjork already writes for music boxes. The Pixies one I'd like to hear.

  4. fistula spume says Oh these are instrumentals. For a second there I imagined a little kid singing sexy Robert Plant lyrics. Glad I checked the site before I posted. Phew!

  5. Dale says I dunno; I think the wee ones can handle the real thing. I used to help my youngest go to sleep by setting him on my lap and listening to whatever I was listening to at the time. I actually caught him singing along to The Vines, and he goes nuts when The Hives come on. Start 'em early and they're hooked for life! BUWAHAHAHAHA!

  6. J-Rock says I think the little kids can handle the real thing no problem. I know at 5 months old the only thing that could make me go to sleep was the electric version of Layla turned up loud as shit! I just think that much of the stuff targeted towards kids is asinine Barneylike stuff. So I have to hand it to Baby Rock Records, if only for their clever marketing. A lot of first-time parents will like this kind of thing because it's not only baby-appropriate but also a re-imagining of the stuff they loved so much back in the day. And if there's one way to appreciate an old favourite artist/song/album it's to share it with someone who's hearing it for the very first time. Although... Tool? Sounds kind of horrendous in my imagination. Haha, spume, you were thinking Mini Pops?!?
