Each month I have an iTunes playlist for the turns that catch my ear that month, an when the month ends I write a post about that list...
this month I think has the fewest entries of any of the past ones... I don't know why, I just didn't have all that much that really really grabbed me... anyway on with the tunes...
Jimmy West by Hemi Cuda I have had this album for a couple of years and not played it all that much. I added it to my iTunes and gave it a couple of spins... with this track grabbing my ears for a couple of weeks. The song is a driving fuzzy rocker with illusion to Iggy Pop. The band is (was?) a pair of hot rocking chicks from the Denver area, and I need to spin some of their other tunes a bit more often.
Blizzard by Bullet Lavolta I was hipped to these guys because of an interview with the former front man of Paw, who sited them as an influence.... and I can hear that, they had the same kind of sonic swirl and feel...
Golden Age by Union Carbide Productions The pre- Soundtrack of our lives band for singer Ebbot Lundberg, this tune is kinda a warped take on the 60's psych-chime rock of The Byrds... but it's a great song, and I played it for a couple of weeks because it's about the ups and downs of life..
I Will Never Die by Turbonegro from their Never is forever album, another record that I pulled out of storage to listen to.... I remembered their earlier stuff being much more noisy, this much more classic rock sounding than I expected. It's a nice mid tempo tune that would be perfect for cruising along the river on a warm spring night.
The First Song Of The Day by Lee Hazelwood From Lees newest and last album, Cake or Death... a great growly pop tune, complete with Lee's dry wit and sense of fun.... if you haven't yet, you owe it to your self to check this record out... the drummer from Sonic Youth said so.
Supernaut by Black Sabbath Classic hard rock, it's got that killer intro, and the guitar just reaches out for the screaming heights of the heavens.... this tune is one of those songs like; Hybrid Moments, Sonic Reducer and Search and Destroy that just make me want to pump my fist in the air.
Rebel Bride by Patricia Vonne I heard this on the Roots Rock Radio podcast and really dug it. It's like a wailing texas punk anthem, with strong soulful vocals. The song evokes images of tattooed brides with cowboy hats and an outlaw attitude screaming from their eyes.
You Tell Me All These Things by The Screaming Trees If you don't know I have been rediscovering these guys over the last year. Great band, you should run out and pick up their album Dust if you don't have it already... this song comes from their album Clairvoyance. The song recalls something that I can't quite put my finger on..... it's got a great fast organ part and a pulse to it that you can't help but bop along to..
1x2x3x4 by Tjenare Kungen This is the band that is featured in the film Tjenare Kungen, which is a fun Swedish flick about and all girl punk group called Tjenare Kungen. Roughly translated their name means God save the King. This song has a great fun feel that reminds me of Maniac by The Screamin Siren or some early punk rock by Blondie or Vice Squad..
Comments, thoughts, plane tickets to Europe?

Can't go wrong with Screaming Trees. I've been listening to Buzz Factory lots lately. It's made some great soundtracks to my ski and hockey excursions.
