Denmark for some reason hasn't produced a whole lot of bands that fall into the Hi Energy Nordic Rock and Roll scene... there are a few like; The Chronics and The Burnouts, but they tended to be just ok... this is not to say that there isn't great music coming out of Denmark... but not a lot in the way of the Hi Energy stuff...
Baby Woodrose is a bit of an exception. Musically they are or were much more on the psych side of garage rock. Their sound, at least on the first album is kinda like a less metal Monster Magnet, in fact I hear a lot of Monster Magnet in their sound over all. It's as if they were listening to Dopes to Infinity as much as SF Sorrow or Rubber Soul.
I first heard of them, while in Helsinki of all places, sitting at the counter at Bar Loose, Baby Woodrose was on the stereo and when I asked the bar tender what was playing she handed me the jewel case and the record instantly went on my shopping list. I picked up that album, but haven't kept up with their releases (which you can find on the very cool and previously discussed Bad Afro label) but from the sounds on their myspace page and the videos I am finding on youtube, it sounds like they have become more and more hardrock and less Psych rock.... and really do sound a lot like Monster Magnet. Take a listen for your self.
I was unable to find video of their early stuff, but if you dig this, that stuff is well worth checking out..
Lastly: I know that there are a lot of Indie rock types here on Mog, and that a lot of the bands I am going to be talking about this month are not something that fit into the style of music that you are listening to these days, well Baby Woodrose is one of the bands that breaks the mold enough that you just might dig their early stuff.

This is a cool tune. I'm pretty sure I've heard them on the Underground Garage. Don't know if you have Sirius or not, but the Underground Garage--station 25--plays a lot of the bands you've been writing about.

Yeah I have heard of and about the Underground Garage, I always seem to miss it, and have been waiting for them to podcast it for a couple of years now...a couple of the bands I am going to be writing about have had their records released by wicked cool records Little Stephen's label...
