Pop goes the world

Posted over 5 years ago
as a angry young man, and were there any other types, back in the late eighties and early nineties, pop music was a dirty thing to me. I had entered my top 40 phase between the eight and ninth grade and it didn't last long. I escaped my early pop years with only a few tapes that I am loath to admit liking.... but now I have come full circle and I can enjoy pop music. I mostly am into what is commonly labeled power pop, and two bands in recent years have really attached them selves to my brain, despite their pop leanings. The Killers, who are pop, but with more than a hint of darkness and menace, and the Thrills. What I like about the Thrills is they have a bouncy fun feel that just hooks you and reels you in. They are not out of place when played next to wall of sound pop songs from the past or even rock from today......
