Discount Bin Heroes: Bigger, Better, Faster, More! nothing?

Posted over 2 years ago
I don't know why it's so hard to write about this discount bin treasure, maybe it's cause Linda Perry has gone on to a career as a pop tune diva and is more known today as a songwriter, than the singer for 4 Non Blondes. Maybe it's the enduring image of her in that silly hat and goggles and what not.... I don't know for sure.. what I know is that the one and only album from these women is a blast of cleanish sounding blues passed alt rock, with nods to funk and that showcases Perry's strong powerful voice.... The lyrics are obvious and a little pretentious, but hey they work, and it's got a drive and beat that ... ok... screw it... you guys tell me why you love, hate or never heard this record, and would you pay a couple of bucks for it?

  2. chucky says I just rebought this album in October. I loved it right after high school and then I lost it. I had such fond memories of it that I had to get it again. After listening to it, I realized I didn't like it anymore. Except Spaceman. I think I must have cried to that song alot in 94/95 because I had a knee jerk reaction to it when I heard it again.

  5. Tony Scalzo says I've said it before: I hate that song, "What's Up?" It's TERRIBLE! Linda Perry's a great song writer, I mean that! But she had to bump into a few walls before finding her way.

  6. Robmo says If buy treasure you mean shiny brown turd then you are absolutely right. It was a stupid record with one song containing a pop hook that was trying to capitalize on the alterna rock phenomenon. Much like Pearl Jam, a calculated attempt by a major label to play dress up and wear guitar, suckering kids into what in different days would have been a pop band in days before

  7. extraordinarypoems says I would probably buy it for the cover, just because it looks interesting. I'm a discount bin hunter, myself.
