A moment of sappyness

Posted about 5 years ago
I have my last beer in hand, and to night.... at work there is was in my face... the last woman that I thought I might have a future with.. she's engaged to another guy at work. Now I don't talk about this stuff often, so don't get used to it. I knew it was over with her a long time ago, we went out a couple of times and she said 'you're nice guy', 'I want something causal', 'I'm not ready for something serious yet', which all adds up to... looser.. (need more beer)... All of this lameness on my part is in service to talk about the most shameful secret of my music history, even worse than the fact that I was a high school republican, even worse than the fact that I have worked as a security officer and had to make kids in dorms turn their music down, the fact that my first real musical love was.... adult contempary (sp?) ...(beer)... and the Eagles... I can't defend any of it, not the Starship (Nothings gonna stop us now... crap) or Richard Marx (and I hope that admission isn't going to get me kicked off of MOG) or any of the rest of it... However, Don Henley, while being overproduced, did write fine songs.... and I don't listen to them half as much as I used to, but they still hold up....OK enough Pity, it's time for some rock action.... Not Drinking Enough, right now I guess I will have to listen to some Hank, Wilie, Waylon and Johnny.... P.S. you should never date co-workers... lesson learned... again.

  2. Beachy says You must erase this post as soon as possible, then spend as long as you can listening to his/her favorite band in your place via headphones until you know that there is nothing but evil and mayhem ahead if you follow through. Go to work Thursday--not tomorrow-- and pick out another girl and work hard to bang her as soon and as obvoiusly as possible. GO Forth, one who knows

  4. Iren says Beachy.. your post reminds of of the Doors Fan skit from Kids in the Hall.... I think I;ll just get drunk on what ever booze is around, play music, go to work, avoid her and the whole thing for as long as it takes to me to forget her...

  8. Iren says no.. but his locker is like 3 down from mine, and a couple of weeks ago I see him opening her locker, and then sends a text message. I am down the hall with my old Asst. Manager talking and I see her come up to the lockers and I know that was how he proposed... worse I saw it in her eyes the moment that they first took notice of each other a month or two back.... in the old days I would have been numb over the whole thing, just beside myself with pain and anguish, now all I can do is smile, shake my head and drink, while planning my escape from working at this place...

  15. chucky says Yikes. Look, I've said it before and I'll say it again, be thankful not sad. One day you'll be with someone who you can't figure out how you enjoyed life before you met them. And on the day you realize that's how you feel you'll look back at this day and be so happy about it. A long, long time ago a fiancee dumped me for another woman. Now I sometimes get an urge to track him down and sincerely thank him for it. Seriously.

  16. Iren says Chucky.. I really am over the whole thing with her.... I knew it was nowheresvillie a year ago, last night it was just the fact that it was so in my face every where at work and has been for a couple of days... I just needed to vent, cause I can't really do that here.... but thanks for the kind words.
