I am the world's forgotten boy Search and Destroy by Iggy and the StoogesI don't need anyone Sonic Reducer by The DeadboysIntroduce me to god! Negasonic Teenage Warhead by Monster MagnetYou can draw the line Iggy and his madman wars that never end and boys that never grow old calling out for healing, to Stiv and his buddies (realty it's a lost long dead mid westerner Peter Laughter who wrote the song- along with Finial Solution) or Dave Wyndrov and his post baby doomer nilism, and arrive with the connection between all three of these masterworks of teenage rage, anger, depression and failure. It's a simple magic, transmit, receive, accurate, telepathy, lost boys living in a hell of doubt, failure and a crumbling landscape of the American nightmare, which has be come more and more real with every passing day. Iggy was down and out The Stooges were over it was 1973 and he gets a second chance and records one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time, Raw Power, credited to Iggy and The Stooges, not the Stooges. Now, I know that the two Stooges albums are considered better albums, and if you want to talk about art, they might be, but when you are talking about damaged, simple, scared, angry teen energy as tapped into by guys who's maturity was stunted by drug use and lost dreams, it's all about the Raw Power, which as we all know can destroy a man. Gimmie Danger is my favorite tune on the album, but it is Search and Destroy that is the classic song. It's so classic that it should have been all over classic rock radio when I was growing up, but that's a different rant. Search and Destroy is the call to action, the warning, the hey I am here and being left behind, and now I am searching only to destroy, to kill to obliterate yeah I know it's about sex, it's all about sex, that's the obvious take on it, but with the best tunes, once you get past that there is so often something more. The Deadboys the world's forgotten sons? Maybe at this late date where theRamones, the New York Dolls and others of the NYC punk class of 77 are getting their due, the Deadboys will finally get the main stream attention they have always deserved. Sonic Reducer is a tune that they copped from Rocket From The Tombs, in which guitarist Cheetah Chrome served. It's a sonic middle finger to all those who have failed to come to the assistance of those on the search and destroy mission. There is also a certain amount of denial in the lyrics, it's all in the attitude.. I have heard recently a current 'punk' band cover this song and they have turned it from a defiant fuck you into a Emo I'm so pathetic tune… the song also has a similar guitar rave up to the one in Search and Destroy…. did I not talk about that….it's like this you have this high energy song filled with passion and it's full bore flat out as driving and powerful as you think it can be, and then suddenly the guitar just jumps above everything else and screams at this world that can't and won't hear them. Sonic Reducer starts off with the screaming guitar and never lets it go, by the end of the song it's like the engine has been blown out and it comes to an almost screeching halt, right there, that's it, that's all she wrote, and that's all she might have written if it wasn't for a fistful of damaged kids trying to write their own rally cry, many have attempted to pull order from their rage and take hold of the flame on this road to madness. … many have tried…..None have come closer than Monster Magnet with their Negasonic Teenage Warhead, which heads downward where the other songs soared. I knows that not only is it about the forgotten boys, but it's been so long since the warning, that's it's obvious that no one is listening and no one will hear, so fuck it right. Let's get it over with, let's blow the whole thing up and we's gonna mutate, and the kids, the kids… sorry that is a different song.. Nega-Sonic, nonsense nouns that suggest negative something, it's techno babble, just a step behind 'Electronic Dream' and 'Dalik Machine' (that's is what he is saying right, it's a Dr. Who thing correct?) which is over course a step past being 'the runaway son of the nuclear A bomb' and 'Now I'm using technology'…... All of which came before cold metal and playing tag in the auto graveyard right? Are you still with me? Is it time to testify? On your feet or on your knees? … so these Hawkwind loving stoner guys, Monster Magnet, name copped from Frank Zappa, come along and say So Fuckin What!, go ahead blow it up, introduce me to god! Where is sanctuary? You madmen you have flushed us away for a few dollars, you find your bastard children in a graveyard, the beat of the living dead all around and you are sending me down shadow drive, straight to hell…. just like my mother said….. So do it, pull the pin already…. cause I will deny you baby, I will deny you….That's it three songs, and it's all over
