Mog
Ok I am still looking at my mog, and checking out the alerts that I get (which isn't everything... still)... and thinking about what I want to do with this mog thing in the next year. Most of the people that I liked interaction with here have left, I just don't get into checking out the post news and reviews and what ever.... so I think for the time being I am only going to commit to the monthly play lists and the odd post when something moves me.... Like this:
The new album by the Damned is out... great stuff.....

since the damned were one of the very first punk bands in 1976 and BRIAN JAMES is a genius.... i really still like the damned very much, but without Brian... its not the same band to me. though Rat Scabies... he is one delightful character...

dachmo: get thee to a record shop.... Damned Damned, MGE or a solid best of comp will wipe that disco band you mentioned out of your mind.
anna log: Yep not the same band, but not an embarasment either (which they have been at a couple of points)... that said the new record has enough solid songs to recommend.

I seem to have hit a nerve, Yes I do think this song sounds like something The Killers would have done. I know very well what the Damned sound like and Yes I also know a bit of what the Killers sound like. Take a moment and really listen to both bands (maybe not The Damneds first album or two but their later stuff).
I'm not standing up for either band but I would easily say the Damned is a far more interesting band than the Killers are but never-the-less my ear tells me it hears a similarity in their musical stylings and that's what I hear (especially on the video you've included above).
I don't need to get myself to a record store since I already have most of the Damned on both Vinyl and disc.

Ugh. I'm a little on edge these days anyhow, due to some family issues. I need to take it down a notch. Sorry if I sounded sore.
