Poison

So here is starts my moaning about the weather... ok today isn't all that bad, it's just that I know I have a couple of months of sweat ahead of me, constant brow wiping, consumption of water and these days I can also look forward to a couple of months of constant explaining the reality of vomit inducing headaches caused by Air Conditioning Units along with their faint chemical smell is poison to me...So for today I give you my songs with the word poison in them list....Little Drop Of Poison by Tom Waits The Poison by Alkaline TrioPoison by The Jolenes Poison Arrow by The Bellrays Poison Comb by The DagonsPoison Heart by HuntingtonsPoison Heart by Mean IdolsPoison Heart by The RamonesPoison Heart by Stiv BatorsPoison Ivy by Suited 'n' Booted Poison Love by Blood on the Saddle Poisonous Lookalike by Warren Zevon Sky Is A Poisonous Garden by Concrete Blonde Subtle Poison by Screaming Trees I have to be honest here and let you know that some of these songs I know inside and out and some of them I don't... I have written a couple of times in the past about Poison Heart... written by Dee Dee Ramone, originally recorded by The Ramones, and here covered by three other artists.... I swear that Dee Dee must have been inspired to write that tune when he was living here in Ann Arbor (and by the way if anyone has that old Monster Bait demo tape he played on I would dig hearing it)... I know the Concrete Blonde song, because back in the days when you would listen to a whole album I used to play that one often enough.... The Jolenes, The Dagons, The Bellrays, Tom Waits and the Screaming Trees tunes I have listened to but none of them have lodged in my brain... Warren Zevon has... and the Blood on the Saddle tune... what can I say it's one of the great seemingly forgotten Cowpunk tunes from the 80's from their album of the same name.Suited 'n' Booted are doing a Joe Meek cover, it's the catchy 60s pop that you would expect. Alkaline Trio, let me talk about them for a moment. They are one of the newer wave of punk/emo bands that I like. I think it's that they have a accessible pop/melodic sound Now I guess that I just need to find an antidote... maybe an igloo or something..

  1. goodmusiconly says So you either sweat your arse off or deal with a migraine -- bummer deal! Hope it goes alright for you; sounds like you could use a summer house in the arctic. Good to see Stiv on your poison list, here are a few more from mine: Blood and Poison, The Sound From a Poison Well, Elliott Smith Poison Head, Les Thugs Poison Pen, Hoodoo Gurus Your Poison, Low Unfortunately MOG isn't allowing me to upload a track so I have to leave you empty-handed. But keep cool, my friend (temperature-wise that is, we already know you're cool)! ;)
