I'm still around. Though y'all'd like to know. And yes, I just used a double contraction. Somewhere, my fifth grade English teacher felt a chill rush down her spine, and she doesn't know why...

Sheesh. It's been so long since I MOGged. And i have no excuse at all. I've just ben MOG-lazy. And for that, I apologise. Awesomeness after the jump.

In any event, in my constant need to let you know the latest band I can't get enough of, I give you CSS (aka: Cansei De Ser Sexy). Here's what you need to know: They're Brazilian, their name means "Tired of being sexy" which is something they heard Beyonce say in an interview, which they all agreed was one of the dumbest things anyone has ever said. (Personally, I am never tired of being sexy.) They are high energy, goofy but not to the point of ridiculousness and deliciously topical. But don't read this, go buy the album, dance like no one's watching and TRY to wipe a smile off your face.
My track pick? Art Bitch, which musically is only about average for the album but lyrically is so clever and biting and I can't help but make it the recommended track. You can listen to it HERE

The Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins concert I attended on Sunday is available online, thanks to the awesomeness of National Public Radio. I've been really lucky to be able to share these concerts with the MOG community. I know i'm slightly behind in the posting area, but I assure you that this concert review is also forthcoming. Oh and for anyone who is interested, here is the set list from the show:

CSS do rule! I've been wanting to see them live for a while now- I bet they put on an incredible show.
I implore anyone and everyone who reads this:
If you are able, when writing a piece about an artist that not many people have heard of (or, sometimes, even that a lot of people have heard of), please link to a sound sample. It is so appreciated, and makes a charming house-warming gift as well.
I've liked what I heard. Reminds me of the Slits a bit. I think the lyrics are cool 'cause english is secondary lingo to CSS.
