Last night while I was pulling one of my first allnighters of the senior semester the Kiley played the Jimmy Kimmel. Unfortunately I didn't see until a few hours ago but fortunately they played the only song I like off the album Dreamworld. The Kiley's four full length release "Under the Blacklight" is most definately my least favorite of their albums, currently their are only two songs I can stand(Dreamworld and Silverling...but the video kind of ruined the song!). But I must add that The Moneymaker does often grow on you when one is in a state of intoxication.I think the reason I am fond of this song is because for once Blake is in the spotlight, most likely because I am so sick of Jenny Lewis. Personally I used to love her and the Kiley but in the recent months I have found myself more drawn the tracks that Blake sings and to The Elected, most likely because I hate Jenny Lewis fans...you know the ones I'm talking about the ones who scream OHMYGOD SHE'S SO CUTE and about how much they want to be her. When JLew last played Philly at the TLA I was surrounded by a group of them , it made me almost want to leave the show, seriously one girl actually cried when she went on stage.
A month later Blake and the Elected played the FUC and the more relaxed atmosphere and the crowd who was mainly in their last 20s early 30s, which was much more enjoyable. Hey even the drunk girl who screamed she loved Pinski was bearable and she even managed to provided me with one of my favorite concert moments ever when she told him he looked like a cuban pedophile and he countered with I love little boy penis before craking up. While I'm talking about underappreciated members of the Kiley why have none of the articles (Spin, Filter, etc) talked to Boesel and Pierre, personally I find Boesel hysterical and would have loved to hear what he has to say(if your ever bored I highly recomend reading the insert of the Bright Eyes Motion Sickness Album which contains his tour diary.)
