An honorable mention for a great 2008 showing with the album, Moonbeams. This song and video are definite standouts from this Pacific NW band.
A band to watch..

Awesome song - again you nailed it Indiana. Last time I got this hooked on a track from you I ended up buying the bands full length album and EP and am still rocking it. Thanks again
love the syncopation!
Glad you guys enjoyed, what EP was that Choc???? :)
I have my binoculars on...
waving arms, over here!! :0)
Wait...wait...now I see you! And this band of yours!
*waving back*
GREAT song! From the beginning percussion, the guitar, vocals in, just pulled me in right away! Thanks!
Anna, great I was wondering if you reconginzed me with my snow hat on.. I look like an Elf, tada!
Andrea, its like a drug hey? :-)
Cheers!
INdy x
Throw Me the Statue is a GREAT band! I followed annieander's Geographer post to here to see who's talking up Seattle bands...thanks for giving them some attention!
I'm a big supporter, of both Seattle and Portland,if you look at my posts you will see a big range of NW tuneage! Any Seattle bands to watch this year or that are flying under the radar??
I have a few that I am fond of: "Tennis Pro":http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=4639766
and "Thee Emergency":http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=9404866 and especially "Kay Kay and his weathered underground":http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=122905195 who I posted about eons ago "here":http://mog.com/amber/blog/163365 .
And you know The Blakes, right? Before Fleet Foxes stole their thunder, they were supposed to be the next big thing out of Seattle. I actually prefer them to FF, even if I am growing to appreciate the gorgeous quietness of Fleet Foxes. I posted about The Blakes "here":http://mog.com/amber/blog/178710 .
There's so much great music coming out of Seattle and Portland. Gotta love where we rest our heads, don't you? :)
I have heard of a Blakes and Kay Kay, and yes, the FF have removed any memories lately.. i saw FF and didn't care for their performance at all! I wil check out the other bands you have there.. I love it hear in the PNW!
Fleet Foxes are a very boring performance. Robin Pecknold just sits there...the first time I saw them, I likened their sound to a beaten bag of sedated cats. I didn't enjoy them in the least. The next time, I was in front and that was a little better. I think they are a band best enjoyed with headphones.
Conversely, The Blakes and Kay Kay and Tennis Pro are all great fun live, in different ways.
PNW FTW. ;)
FTW??
Ye, I have enjoyed FF much more lately just listening with my ear jacks . good point... " beaten bag of sedated cats"... OMG! True! Did you see the video with them and the goats?? That was a perfect match up!
For The Win. ;)
the bag of cats crack was made when I was particularly pissed off; it was at Sasquatch Music Festival and FF was playing instead of The National because The National's bus broke down. So I was ranking on FF out of spite...and because it was true. :D
I haven't seen the video but I'm thinking I need to visit youtube--how do you pass up FF and goats?
Fleet Foxes He Doesn't Know Why from Grandchildren on Vimeo. here's the video with them and the goats. Ye Amber i dont' blame you, if they dont come and you expect them too, and then someone else shows up, esp for the National (FF??) nooo .. not acceptable!!! :) Did you know a few days ahead of time they werent coming?
