A Classic Revisited

Posted almost 4 years ago

One of my most beloved albums is about to have an anniversary. "Breakfast in America" by Supertramp got me through some of the toughest times in my adolescence, including my parents' divorce when I was 16. I bought it in Austin while on a state UIL school trip, right as the employees at the record store were taking it out of the box. This piece of vinyl probably got more spins than any other, and I wore it out. A brand spanking new audiophile pressing is set for release sometime next month.

It's gratifying to finally see this album get the respect it deserves, even after all these years. If you haven't heard it, now's the time!

Say hello to Libby!

  1. wizillusions says Excellent post. And yes Breakfast In America is an excellent album although I prefer Crime of the Century and Even In the Quietest Moment over Breakfast but that is just my taste. And I am sure some of it has to do with my age at the time of the release of all of them.
