This rendition of the old Rascals hit is quite possibly the most beautiful ever recorded. Mathis has the ability to build the sound ladder to a crystal clear high note and hold it effortlessly as it fades into the mists of uncertain love. Yeah, I was a romantic back in those days (today, I'd probably be called "emo"), and this song spoke volumes to my adolescent angst over the opposite sex. Alas, this rendition doesn't seem to be available anywhere; I may invest in an old vinyl and clean it up on my computer. If anyone finds it on CD somewhere, I'd appreciate the heads-up.
