It's perfectly obvious that when anyone thinks of the indie poster child, Death Cab for Cutie comes to mind.

Even though I guess that this means they are not 'technically' indie, considering the whole major label debut, I still absolutely adore them and still, kind of regretfully, view my music taste as kind of elite.

But you seriously can't blame me when the people around me are total Fergie advocates right?

Basically, I don't think bands sell out if they want to go to a major label so they can earn more money, because, the green stuff is nice, unless you're having sponsorships in your videos like Fall Out Boy...was that a joke? I think it may've been a joke.

So yeah, Death Cab is probably the best music my ears have ever heard, and I don't care if thousands of teenyboppers agree.

Maybe there is hope for them yet?

I like Death Cab a lot, and it never bothers me when small time bands get signed to major record labels. What DOES bother me is when that band allows the record label to have complete control over the production of the album. It seems major record labels have one thing in mind, SELL RECORDS = MAKE MILLIONS. It is only when the band is producing a more poppy sound to appeal to the masses, that I get annoyed.

Modest Mouse anyone?

When my friends get depressed, they call me on the phone and talk my ear off, making plans for a "Girls Day" complete with large spoons and buckets of cookie dough.

I myself buy music. And I must say, in the past week I've bought more music than my wallet can handle.

Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit The Decemberists - The Crane Wife Ben Lee - Awake is the New Sleep Goot - EP Bright Eyes - Cassadaga Wilco - Sky Blue Sky Menomena - Friend and Foe

Oh and I bought Pavement's "Cut Your Hair" as a ringtone on my phone, even though my cell is permanently on vibrate, just because I love that feature.

I probably need a job.

I'm favoring Conor's lovely lyrics on "I Must Belong Somewhere." Enjoy the video, mp3 won't upload...

I think I'll get a lover, and fly 'em out to Spain...

Not only do I adore the city of Boston - this song will make me stop in my tracks at the grocery store to finish hearing it, not turn the car off until it's through, and keep playing the sample on MOG long enough for it to sound like a real song.

I'm being careful not to overplay it, or soon I might hate its simple melody.

But it pretty much expemplifies who I am at this very moment. Augustana helps me speak through song.

Plus, Augustana is a real good band, and it's all thanks to their single I found this out.

And just because I couldn't find the song in my files - here's the video:
