Recently, two separate posts came up where I felt I had to comment. The first was fistula spume and the second rawkkiddo. You can see them here and here.

Fist’s post about reggae had me looking for just the track to illustrate a point.

Rawkkiddo’s post had me look for a track to lift the spirits.

Between the two is this post. But first a little Bible story. Don't worry, no preachy, preachy. I am not like that. I am merely putting this out there as backstory and decent reading.
This is the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednago. Stick with me kids there is a point. As lame as it may be. Here is the synopsis:
"King Nebuchadnezzar, according to the story, was disputing the power of Yewah. He cast the three Hebrew men (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) into the furnace.

The men were unharmed, even though Nebbie had the fires force fed to keep the flames up and burn up the Hebrews."
Here is the Bible version. This is from the book of Daniel.
The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. Moreover, at Daniel's request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court. But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon-Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego-who pay no attention to you, O king. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up." Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, Nebuchadnezzar said to them, "Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual . He commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. The king's command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, "Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!" So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

Now my lame ass point.

I was going to post The Abyssinians "Abendnigo", from what I believe is their first album Satta Massagana (1976), for fist as an example of good spiritual reggae. I uploaded it for this post.

And just last night I posted "Shadrack" done by Louis Armstrong. This track was taken from the Ken Burns Jazz Collection. I don’t think I will ever get tired of hearing that tune. I will replay this in comments.

I got Shadrack, Abendnigo, and even Daniel (if you count the Elton John song, which I won’t upload for many reasons) but I don’t have Meshach. I could google the tune if there is one, but I won’t. I will leave it up to you and our fellow MOGtopians to find one. If you find another "good" Daniel tune, bring it to comments and let us check it out.

Till then enjoy the songs.
