MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

(33)

Awhile ago I said I was going to run for President of the United States in Pennsylvania. My motivation was explained and I had hopes that it would come to pass that my name would be on the ballot, unfortunately this is no longer possible. But wait, there is a bright side.

My Candidate Package came today.

Cashing in at 9 pounds my stack of papers would choke even the most hardy of bureaucratic 'In' boxes. Along with the gold sealed letter of 'Welcome" from one Pedro A. Cortes (Sec. of the Commonwealth), a 'Candidate Affidavit' (form DSBE-PBCA), various papers explaining the nomination process, came a stack of paper packets (around 35) titled 'Political Body Nomination Papers' (form DSBE PB-G). It is the nomination forms that make up the bulk of my package.

One of the forms that explains the process has my required signatures (sigs.) amount spelled out in black and white.

For President - 59,319

For Congress in the 15th District - 2,124

Guess which office I will be going for?

I feel bad I won't be going for President, conceding defeat doesn't come easy for me. It would have been nice to see my name next to that office, and to see how many votes I could garner without actually trying.

But Congress, that a different ball wax. Running for Congress means I can get deep into it. Collect my sigs. and start campaigning in earnest. The 15th district is only so big, but I think it is at least manageable.

The incumbent is Charlie Dent. Charlie isn't such a bad guy. I actually like him. I was checking out his voting record and I have to say, he doesn't always vote the party line. In fact he has voted against the Republican Majority on several occasions.

So that's it, I am dropping my bid for President and starting my run for Congress as an Independent.

Wish me luck.

If your interested and you have a pdf viewer you can check out some of the forms they sent me by hitting the links below. Oh yeah, Enjoy Willy Mason. Heard this song for the first time today, and it had me weeping.

Would you be able to get people from other districts no-show jobs?

Why are you available to not show up? What are your qualifications?

Let me look - I'm sure I've got a brother-in-law here somewhere...

This is a truly great song. Was it just a couple of years ago that it came out? I caught the video somewhere on TV a couple of times and was just stunned (in a good way). At a time when, sadly, I had zero money for tunes. Then it disappeared....

Well, now that you've pulled out of the presidential race, I guess I'll be cheering for Obama.

When you get the power to write hot checks can you make a donation to the buy Sam a car foundation? Just kidding. How cool of you to run. It may seem funny but I've been thinking about doing so myself for about 4 years now. Not sure if I ever will but I enjoy your go gettemness. Good luck I am! Must be nice to have so many representatives in your state. That's a lot of districts.
