Could be my lack of sleep or a myriad of things:
1. MOG War EvW doesn't seem to be taking off. Maybe I should go with US v. Europe and make it a global confrontation.
2. My family is sick, everyone but me for the moment. Earaches and bronchitis. Winter is most definitely looming large in Pennsylvania.
3. Job prospects are drying up 'round my area. There just doesn't seem to be a call for music loving jackasses like myself who want to crawl the internet and get paid for it.
4. Election Day is tomorrow. (Sigh), lets see who will be screwing up my life from an Ivory Tower.
5. My Mac has blown a gasket or something and I don't have the time or inclination to fix it. I think it's sympathetic to the Writer's Guild strike.
6. My Internet radio has to be put on hold again. I need a static IP to broadcast from and I am not really sure how to do that.
7. My cars starter doesn't want to do it's job. I think it too is sympathetic to the Writer's Guild strike.
8. My wife is going into a long week at work. I have no idea when I will get to have an adult conversation with her.
9. I have 2 smokes till tomorrow and it's only 9pm my time.
10.I can't find the song I wanted for this post. Legendary Stardust Cowboy's "Hammerlock and Turkey Dance".
11. A buddy of mine told me that the Fabulous Moolah died over the weekend.
Ever since I was a little guy, Saturday afternoon wrestling was a highpoint on the TV. Grappling along side of Chief Jay Strongbow, Andre the Giant, Gorilla Monsoon (a friend of the families), Ivan Putsky, Hogan, Randy Savage, Superfly Snooka, Tiger Lee and his kabuki dust, The British Bulldogs, The Iron Sheik, Lou Albano, Roddy Piper and the list of B - stars who got their asses kicked one week, only to return next week under a different name. I haven't forgot Moolah.
Truth is I don't remember any other female wrestler from that time. Not a blessed one. What did this chick have on me?
Born as Lillian Ellison in 1923 this native of South Carloina (tip 'o the hat to Groon) started to kick ass and chew gum in 1948. When she was all out of gum in 1956 her career as "Slave Girl Moolah" took off when she won the first Women's World Championship title. A title she held until 1984. Moolah's time in the ring was in many ways mirrored many women's struggle for parity in sports. Now that I think about it, it is funny that this trailblazer in women's sports was a wrestler which is a lot less gentile considering the firsts in other sports like tennis. But I digress.
I stopped watching the Saturday wrestling match ups about the time I entered high school. At that time the wrestling I knew became obviously fake and like the first time you hear that Santa Claus wasn't real, it had lost it's magic.
I am depressed more about her death because a part of my childhood died with her.
If you get the chance, check out a movie titled Lipstick and Dynamite:The First Ladies of Wrestling. It is Ruth Leitman's documentry about 4 early wrestling women including Moolah.
Hey, Enjoy the Legendary Stardust Cowboy and go knowing that heaven has a new boss now.

Bro, it'll all be okay.
One way or the other.
Like the song btw.
My Trusted MOGs
Hang in there bro. Things will get better. They just have to. Your beer glass is half full dude. :)
My Trusted MOGs
I know Doom, things work out don't they?
My Trusted MOGs
Mike my beer glass is always empty, if you get my drift.
My Trusted MOGs
Ouch. My recommendation is to go straight to bed. Then you'll have two smokes in the morning. Better to start tomorrow off good than to suffer through today.
My Trusted MOGs
To late. I already smoked one of them. I feel the jitters coming.
My Trusted MOGs
Thanks for this post. I ALSO loved wrestling, (and I'm girl) when I was in grade school and junior high I used to stay up late and watch it with my mom... I too quit watching when I started high school, up here in Wisconsin we had ALL STAR WRESTLING which broadcasted out of Minnesota. It included, "the crusher", marty o'neil, verne Gagne and "mad dog Vachon"... those were the days. Wrestling was silly and funny and well, wrestling. Times sure have changed. I'm sorry I never got to see the Moola, but I will check out the documentary for sure. Hope things look up for ya.
My Trusted MOGs
Well shit. You're screwed.
;)

Ok young man, play this vid while you read this...
Life fuckings sucks dude that is a fact! Not much you can you do! I just got out of the Harbor View nut out! I drive my poor wife crazy with my obsessive creave child like music writing! I think it's it's it's well fuck...don't really know what the fuck the crap is! But Hey! Start the vid over Man! Point is I dig this song Bro!
Peace...
Bi-polar Ray...

Thanks Miss, Gagne there's a name I haven't heard for a while.
Who was the "Crusher", that one escapes me.
If you think about it, let me know what you think about the flick. I loved it. We had great fun watching it my family and I. As crazy as this sounds it might bring a tear to your eyes.
My Trusted MOGs
Ray one of my fave tunes. Thanks bro.

Hey man, sorry about my part in it (I see that was reason number 1), I didn't exactly run with the funk war and all, but I've been feeling it too. Just happened to come at a down time for me.... something in the air I guess. Personally I think it happens every year for me around this time. Fall comes with a crispness, it brings a certain clarity, of intention and possibility, it seems like things can happen.... and then when winter starts to approach, its like a veil falls and things get a lot more muddled. What seemed possible and close before now seems far off. Don't know if that's your experience. Anyways don't give up on the funk war, we probably need another week, West seems a bit thin right now.
That song by the way is what danny would call a "goofer"..... and from the song "Happy as I Am".........we're all standing in trash cans.......
My Trusted MOGs
Nick, don't blame yourself, I think MOG is tired of Wars. I just thought my idea of retribution would fly. I'll give it a rest for now. Still think US v. Europe might be the way to go. More inclusive that way. Like I said no sweat. Just rambling.
And we’re all standing in trash cans way to state my case.
Not familiar with "Happy as I am" but now I am intrigued.
My Trusted MOGs
"Happy As I AM".....did I hear that wrong, I thought that was in the song.
My Trusted MOGs
Duh. Your right. I missed the reference.
My Trusted MOGs
Every Saturday I would hang over at Bobby Pritchard's house and watch wrestling...and I don't mean the Friday Night Smackdown kind these youngens watch. I am with you. Rowdy Roddy, Randy Savage, Mean Gene...I remember them all...though I haven't thought about them in ages.
Mog is not supposed to be pressure...if the whole E vs. W coast thing doesn't work...no bother...we just want you sane and whole.
I hope your family feels better soon. Nothing sucks more then sick kids...Take care and be well.
My Trusted MOGs
Mean Gene Oakerland (or Ochelund, Okaloin, Oakuelund I forget). Remember any more names. Like, Who was the cat who tag teamed with Tiger Chung Lee, or Chief Jay?
Sane, ummmm ….. sane …... The doctor said this would be good therapy. Sane …. I ‘m not sure what you mean ….. Sane, nope doesn’t ring a bell.
EvW was doomed. US v. Europe now that has potential. We have heavy hitters on both side of the Right Coast Pond. People with scores to settle (cough, Anna, cough, cough).
Thanks for the good vibes annie.
My Trusted MOGs
Chucky, now I am screwed. Just had the last one. 12:30 my time.

Used to go club hopping with a girl down here who claimed to be related i some way to Moolah. Of course, she was the type of girl who made all sorts of claims. Some happened to be true, so who knows? she was hot enough that I didn't care either way.
Sorry to hear about the troubles. That seems to be happenin' all around. I don't want to add to the misery, but there is that saying of how it feels about company . . . car troubles and sicknesses all around down here, too. Just know we're thinkin' about you--I think you're relative silence in the MOGverse must be catching up to all of us. The place just isn't the same without you ranting about something!
And, if I could, I'd fed ex some of my smokes up your way right now. They wouldn't get there in time, but it's the thought, right?
If I click "like post?" down here, does that mean I like the fact that you're depressed? I think not!
My Trusted MOGs
My Trusted MOGs
Nick, What do you think, Young Moolah or Old Moolah for her postage stamp?
My Trusted MOGs
Your right G. Maybe It's about time I try conquering the 5th.
Being from SC, I am sure your smokes are better than mine.
And though it pains me to say, I thank you for the well wishes. "Shit happens then your dog throws up", this is life.
Maybe I should have Titled this:
I Am Merely Bummed .......
Understated, but to the point.
My Trusted MOGs
Groon, you were like a headbanger!
And you went clubbing?
Most have been a low point.

The most pungent thing I'd done today before reading your post was watch a 1995 MadeFor TV movie about Woody Allen and his difficulty with a Korean orphan. I ate a Whopper while I watched it.
My Trusted MOGs
Yeah right, thanks for the boost:
12. asrati's life is more exciting than mine.

I don't smoke anymore, but I think I might take it up again.
Belushi, it's said, had the hunch that he should follow his freefall to its furthest point, and that things would have to get better from that point onward.
He got the first part right.

Oh! Oh! Feel like Sharing! Chicks love to say that man, so this dude (yea me dude). Was really fucking bum once say uhhhhhhhhhhhh? thir? Twenty! So he drove up to this area called Angeles Crest, play vid again! laid on his long toyota truck seat by the edge of the clift. Wasn't really sad about it, excited, really can't remember? But turned on the engine, don't know why I really shut off the engine. Guess was scared that my fucking ma would be pissed if I was that wheelchair dude but of the moron kind and being not rich. She had awe crap! New vid, anyways she didn't was a lazy fucking head around the house and I awe man! What were we talking about?
Peace

Go ahead, man, blame the writers. It's what everybody else does....
My Trusted MOGs
What no funk wars 2?
Sorry to hear you are blue..it's the seasonal change and the sick house..
Stop hugging each other so damn much!
Keep your hugs virtual..
I was more of a roller derby cat.
I met Albert Finney one time and that's what we talked about..He had never heard of Roller Derby!
Gimmie a call if you wanna, I need a break from History..The new trends in World History are pretty depressing. Basically, when we stopped being Hunter-Gatherers around 8500 BCE, humans became assholes, and it has been all about killing off H-G's since then...10,000 years of Economic Darwinism...or at least that's how I'm reading it..maybe I'm depressed
Please call
My Trusted MOGs
keep on going, chris. these things always get solved in the last minute. about the funk wars, we should organise something. maybe we were rushing the whole thing and it needs more time to settle down. im in anytime we decide to do it.
wot? you do not know the crusher?? this is the original crusher "shouting" with the novas in the 60s.... aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh
that wrestling video looks very appealing, i love wrestling myself and i watched a lot of shows on tv for years. but... if you ask me, lucha libre is my shit. en el rincon izquierdo y con 76 kilos de peso.... el saaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn-toooooooooooooooooo
My Trusted MOGs
Chris: dahoood... think it might be time for a Malvern Pizza run my brotha... you can call me as well... I am all about Cody's thoughts... seasonal changes & illness can really put a damper on things... Mog seems to be kinda in a lull (maybe it's just me), but the wars are still something to rock =-) so far as I am concerned I guess !!!
Big virtual hug to you til we gets our Pizza ON !!!
My Trusted MOGs
I am sorry to hear about the tough times. Taking care of a sick family is no fun at all. Nor is having busted stuff--my wife's laptop had a close encounter with a bottle of seltzer yesterday, and it's not clear what damage has been done, except that the "t" on her keyboard seems to be broken. Hard to type without a t.
I remember Moolah, but only as the evil adversary of the lovely and talented Wendy Richter--I suppose I came to wrestling a little later. I think Wendy was managed by Cyndi Lauper or something. And Captain Lou was in there somewhere as well--managing Moolah? All I remember is that Lou had one of those overnight good-to-evil transformations, and Cyndi Lauper blamed it on "a calcium deposit in the medulla of his oblongata."
My Trusted MOGs
do you remember dick the bruiser? or was he just indiana based
My Trusted MOGs
You're not depressed. You're just melancholy.

12. brendan continuously using the dashes in his comments forcing me to read through the lines to get what he's saying.
I'm feeling the drag of the solars right now, myself. Hopefully just a matter of time. ; )
My Trusted MOGs
i hope i never have to see that photo again
My Trusted MOGs
(That was a funny remark in regards to brendan btw-i know he gets frustrated about that, I don't mind at all, forgot the "hehehe")
My Trusted MOGs
Brendan, there's an easy way to avoid the strike-throughs. Whenever you want to indicate a dash, leave a space, then hit the small dash key once - like that.
My Trusted MOGs
(responding like, you know, a freakin' day late) . . . I knew "clubbing" wasn't the right word. It wasn't like going to regular clubs or anything. There's a place in Columbia called the Art Bar which could be described as a club basically because it has a dance floor. But this was the place you went because all the other places sucked and played dance music. This place played (and still plays, I presume) a lot of music, from James Brown and funk to Sousxie and the Banshees, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Kool and the Gang . . . basically anythign and everything. Never a cover, always playing great music. It was sort of the "alternatice" hang out took when that name meant something.
I mean, which clubs today would play the Beastie Boys on the dance floor?
My Trusted MOGs
IAM, Stay with it because when you think it cant get any worse be leave me it will. I was in that bath PA explosion in 01/07/87 it killed my friend standing next to me and i have been out of work sence. I have nothing to show for any of this twenty yrs later and about to lose my home i have 4 dogs a cat and my wife BUT we keep the faith and dying some times seems better then all my troubles would be some body elses!. Remember monty pythons song the better side of life, LOL I keep thinkin about that and it makes me LOL. KEEP YOUR CHIN UP dont let them see you when your down becaus they dont give a shit any WAY, lol
My Trusted MOGs
LMAO
My Trusted MOGs
yo Chris, hope your feeling a bit better today, sorry i missed the virtual hugs and general support.,,, who knew there were so many lady wrestling fans out there?
My Trusted MOGs
Was not familiar with the Fabulous Moolah; an interesting bio to say the least. Wishing you strength and an eventual return to calming external certainties and an inner tranquility.
My Trusted MOGs
No prob Chris, ya do when ya can. Truthfully I am anxious about your newest addition. It's a great story unfolding.
GC , thanks. Today is worse then yesterday.
