WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Damn You Scotty! I Can't Get This Outta Of My Head ....

Posted about 1 year ago

Our buddy scotfree has laid down a monster pile of BOC (Blue Oyster Cult).

If your into it, if you might be into it, or if your not into it but think you might be able to be into it you can check out his post here.

So this post got me thinking about;

- I got to see BOC for free at a beach concert in Virginia Beach. We happen to be perched at a bar just across the street from the stage. We had the best of all worlds. We had seats with a view and refreshments and we had some kick ass music that was loud but not so loud you could talk, if you know what I mean. To this day I regret being so inebriated.

Drunk out of my mind with my shipmates I hardly remember more than what I just told you.

- Next year I am going to be 40. Whooopeee! Plan your slams now. When June 5th comes I officially enter 'old age'. The knees are bad, eye sight failing, My back hurts more than it doesn't. I can feel life slipping away.

Of course I am not as old as some other Moggers. While there is a lot of good natured ribbing (mostly one sided and in my favor) I won't mention more than one name. scotfree. May your years never get in the way of your coolness.

- Heavy Metal. What a cool freakin movie that just plain rocks. BOC did 'Veteran of the Psychic War'. Second tune into the film.

I had to be 16 or 17 when I first saw this movie on the big screen. No doubt it was at Lehigh Valley Movie Plaza 'Midnight Movies' on Friday or Saturday night. I was probably driving my 74 Camaro. It was a 305 automatic, my dad had the 350 4 speed manual. Gas was cheap then. What did we care?

2 of the 5 screens had 'The Wall' and 'Rocky Horror' the others had rotating goodness every week. 'Rock and Rule', old sci-fi, 'Marijuana Madness', and just a boatload of movies that some how crept back into popular culture like a monster from the deep.

- My relationship with MOG. I used to come here to unwind. Sometimes you get alot out of me, sometimes you don't. Sometimes funny, sometimes thoughtful, always sarcastic, and sometimes but mostly honest. The details of my life I don't want to talk about I don't. I share what I want to share. Lucky for you one of my faults is 'Too Much Information'. Lucky for me because I have a groovy group to tell it to.

- Roller Skating. Before I could drive one of the things I did was go roller skating at the old Route 100 Roller Skating Rink. It was massive. Long feathered hair and Rush's 'Moving Pictures' looped on my Walkman. At the time it was the soundtrack for my life. 'Red Barchetta' had a hand in my later love of sporty foreign cars.

If you click the link below you will find the story that supposedly inspired the song. Good read if you got a printer and some time to spend in the bathroom. You should notice the mention of FIAT in the link. FIAT is 'THE' Italian car manufacturer, period. I can't get enough of them.

Check out this fan vid for the car. Like the Jaguar E-Types it is sex on wheels.

- Life in general. Enjoy it while you have it.

- This tune from 'Heavy Metal'.

What ever happened to Don Felder?

Found another video for the Barchetta. It's got a Sinatra tune with it.

How nice is that going into Saturday?
