Finger popping, toe tappin' good feeling.
Hit play, or else. You won't regret it.
There's a few reasons propelling this ride and every one of then is connected in it's own wonderfully chaotic way. "Life, the Universe and Everything".
My good friend Galen has joined MOG and honestly I swore to myself I wouldn't do a shout out but I think we have a good chance of roping him in.
I could write volumes about Galen but I won't. The reason is because I think he is able to show what kind of person he is well enough on his own, that and I think you will benefit by making his acquaintance.
Drop by his page and say HI! here:
Cub Scouts started tonight. I am leading the Webelos den this year. On tap for the kids is a really awesome nature scavenger hunt, knife safety, a trip to Just Born candy company, a bike rodeo, and just a ton of other things to do. I lost 2 boys this year but I got 2 more so it evens out at about 7 boys. My assistant Glen is back and I am looking forward to the good time we will have.
I don't think I mentioned it to often but I am a Scout for life. Some of my fondest memories from my youth has centered around family and Scouts. I enjoyed real personal achievement in Scouts. Growing up without a father my Uncle Bob and my grandfather were my father figures. Uncle Bob really got into Scouts with me and if I can muster half of the enthusiasm for Scouting that he did I think I will do alright. I have a single mom in my den so I have some challenges and big responsibilities to stand up to. I think this will be good for me.
I finally tuned all of my guitars to open D. Thanks Annie. Thanks for giving me the kick. I played a rousing rendition of "I Love ...". It's a song we sing when we feel like being silly. Alex sang "I Love Pokemon", Baylor sang "I Love Snakes", Linny sang, "I Love Cast In Bronze" (don't ask). I sang, "I Love Gyros" and for the first time in a long time I played my no name nylon string. Brand X guitar but what a sound. Wide fretboard and heavy as hell. It's got a dull tone but you can hammer it as hard as you want and it sounds great for about 10 feet.
I bought a piece of music equipment that I think may get the guys together again. By 'guys' I mean Galen, Tommy, John, and myself. It's the kind of prospect that I look forward to. Who knows what may happen. Hopefully more on this later.
October is right around the corner. Baylor's birthday, my anniversary and Halloween. My favorite time of year.
If your scratching your head wondering about the connections .... let it pass. The connections are personal and they wouldn't make sense to you anyway.
Here's to moving forward.
Enjoy the tune. It isn't Coldplay.
I know the original by the Gorillaz and it's HHT and all but this cover blows away the original in every way. Did I mention my buddy the 'Monkey Pumper" (aka Galen) turned me on to the Editors?
So over all I feel good, I am buoyant.

The connection gets deeper.
Annie posted this tune before.
Here's her props.

Wow, you have real live friends, too! Mazel Tov!
I'll raise a glass to buoyancy .... cheers Chris
let's pick up the pace a bit
wow, Cookin' On Three burners..Tha Down Unda funk..nice.
Oh Nick what kind of fire are your lighting? When was this recorded? If it's older I had no idea.
So I got another version to blast out the windows on the morning commute.
Sweet Mother of Jesus that's hot.
Imagine that CB. Who knew.
You can hit him up for personal information about me and do some heinous blackmail.
Nick, you never cease to surprise me. 3rd play and now I'm swiping it.
I posted on those Burner Cats aways back..I guess context is everything.
Pseudo is on my list now..thanks for the tip.
of course Cody posted on em! in fact I'm sure I picked this one up on multi somewhere's ... maybe not you cody ... possibly Mario
I must have missed that you're in Webelos. Good times! Morgan's a Life Scout, Jordan's working his way to Tenderfoot, and Josh is a Bobcat and working on Wolf. And of course there was that year spent as a Scoutmaster for me. I had no appreciation for Boy Scouts as a kid, but I get it now as a father of boys, for sure.
And as much as I love that Editors remake, I think Nick just trumped you. I gotta go with you, that's hot stuff. Yowch!
you're a Scout! who knew?
is Baylor a Libra? Librans are the rockingest people on earth, fo sho. October is tha shiz.
Cody, "real live friends", hahahah.
No argument from me Dale. I concede, hands up.
I had no idea you were that involved with Scouting.
Church and Scouts is where my charitable resources go. I turned down a job for District Manager. What was I thinking? A professional Boy Scout. Needless to say I had my reasons. Scouting isn't what it used to be 15 - 20 years ago. I still believe in it and it is one of the high points of my week.
Hey wait a minute. Who let the skirt in here?
We're bonding. Give us a minute.
Baylor's birthday is Oct 2nd. I guess that makes him a Libra. I always thought Libra's were neat freaks. That sure isn't the B man. He's an effin mess.
Yes I am a Scout. Pulls everything together now doesn't it?
Ilay, did I ever tell you I sang with Rosemary Clooney?
Talk about squeaky clean. Man I shined.
I'll save that story for another day.
Shouldn't you be chillaxin with a cocktail right now?
Ilay check this one out.

And the tune from that post.
pshaw. i thought y'all were asexual-geek bonding. (runs for cover) 90% of the thread went over my head. (oh, look, a tree!)
Librans as neat freaks? hellzno. order freaks, maybe, in an OCD way.
chillaxin' tomorrow mornin'. can't wait.
you must tell the Rosemary Clooney story another time, yo! sounds like a sweet deal.
...is it me or i can't play any of the old skool players?? darn...
Upate your flash player kid.
Red button working for you?
Order freaks, that's it. Does all your money face the same way?
Clooney is my 60+ minutes of fame. There was a recording of that show but hell if I can find it.
You have a good vaca.
yeah, I gotta agree with everone else, Nick's version rocks!
trying to feel alright but I keep getting these awful headlines on yahoo news... WaMu seized...
maybe i need to play the tunage again.
and again... !
Chris, the Lydia/Clooney post is all kinds of awesome.
"Does all your money face the same way?" - oh, now you're mocking.
just one last thing before i jet... Nick! that song is the shit.
yes, Nick..The 3 Burners reek of Mario..though I don't see it over there..
Chris, the scouts were a major part of my life as well, up to about age 14. Went to Philmont, saved our leader there from serious injury when he got us lost in the mesas.
As far as Feel Good goes, much as I like the Bowie/Rebel Rebel way the 3 Burners start, I just miss the vocals too much. So I guess that's one for the Editors...
Anniversary in October eh? Me too... what day is yours? My son Samuel's birthday is in October too.
Baylor is the 2nd and my anniversary is the 12th.
Well there ya go! That's the same day as mine! My son Sam's birthday is the 11th.
This is eerie. I missed your post the first time around. Found it just now, because I was snooping around the Editors MOG posts. And it's a post about Galen, who I just met yesterday! Spooky coincidence!
