I have been toying with an idea for awhile, it is to post a series about the city I live in, Bethlehem, PA. While it's not my birth city, (don't really have one unless you count Kuhnsville pop. 98) Bethlehem is where I have hung my hat since my service days. This burg at the foothills of the Blue Mountains and the Pocono Plateau nestled in the bottom of the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.
As anywhere your feelings about the place you live changes from day to day. Some days great, some days GRRRRR! Right now I am fine with Bethlehem, While the job market seems slow, development within the city limits is brisk.
In this series I hope to talk about Main St., Festivals, Neighbors, Colleges, Scenery, and Life in general. Nothing planned, I will go as the mood lifts me. Through pictures and words I hope to acquaint you with my hometown and by extension me, because where you live is an integral part of your personality. I have plenty of observations to prove this fact beyond a shadow of a doubt.
I know it's ambitious and I tend to peter out as time goes by, but I think it is a topic of worthy discussion. Talking about my town will help you talk about your town, and by 'extension' I get to know a bit about you.

What a great idea! I'm looking forward to reading this series :)
I just hope I can keep up with it.
Did I tell you I blew past Stae College and went to Grove City recently? I thought of you when I passed the exit.
Maybe I can say Hi next time I am out there.
For those of you who don't know where State College is, I can assure you it is 'out there'.
you should definitely say hi next time! It can get pretty boring out here (well, out there, since I'm actually home in Abington right now). and yes, it is certainly 'out there', in the middle of nowhere.
sound great, chris! Looking forward to it.
Nice idea...
If, where you live is an integral part of your personality ...
If you've lived in tons of places does that make you mentally ill?
Bring it on...can't wait to here all about it.
I can share too.
Very cool Chis, look forward to it. Hope all these responses give you some encouragement to proceed on this.
Well how can I 'not' do it.
Thanks guys, I hope it goes well.
Yes Cody it does. I think you should run, not walk to your favorite mental health facility.
Annie, that what I like to hear.
Ray, your the best.
Good luck with this, cant wait to read about it. One of my favorite articles in CMJ magazine was when they would spotlight a town somewhere in the USA. They would talk about where to get food, and what local venues were good to see music at. Cant wait to see what your town has to offer
Coop, thats a great idea. I'll slate something for food and drink.
just a note, include the places to get music......that was my favorite part.
