WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

What The Hell Is Going On? or Solid Internet Gold .........

Posted about 1 year ago

Lately my writing has taken a sinister bend. Okay, maybe not that sinister. Still I have been getting into punk and older hardcore. Must be the 'summer energy' I've being soaking up. Birthdays, weddings, festivals, and a thousand other celebrations that go on when the weather turns warm, then hot, then molten.
Dogs are running more, the kids are losing the fat they stored up for the winter, and I am happy for the extra hour and a half of daylight. More time to get things done and go swimming.

In that vein I would like to make a few general announcements:

Mog Wars is a go. I will be posting a 'Stone Tablet' of rules within a day or two. Some of you cats have already signed up, Thank you, but all open sign ups haven't really begun yet. Anna (the Bringer of Pain, the DJ of Demise, the mostest hostess, the Grecian of Deletion) has graciously consented to help bird dog Mog Wars and use her phenomenal cosmic powers to get the word out. I had hopes for a video kickoff (might still happen) but time and inclination divided by the sum of ability and constraint equals, hopefully. I just want to get the party started.

My car was broken into. The crack head perp got my Ipod.

Alex turns 9 on the 27th. Happy birthday Alex. What a little man you have turned out to be. Keep up the drawing and never quench your thirst for knowledge.

I will be driving south come January. Down 95 to Walt Disney World. Any Moggers in my way or close to it, give me a shout. Maybe we can can hook up for an hour or so. I am sure I will need the break.

Chalky white toothpaste is one of the best remedies for poison ivy and mosquito bites. Apply liberally.

I just found this video on Youtube. It's a fan vid for the song 'Ha Ha Ha' by Flipper. The song is awesome and the video just works.

The track below is courtesy of Crash.

Consider this a shout about your trip down south.  I-95 runs but a scant distance from Charleston.  I expect to see you at some point.

Happy birthday to Alex from me and the girls.

Looking for a place to buy fireworks, any suggestions?

That is to cool. We may hit Savannah on the way so I am not 100% sure of our trajactory. Georigia is in the cards. SC is a blip on the road, but I think we could get together, maybe catch a meal on the road. Suggestions on that to. Chuck, you were the first and only request I made for this trip.

I said, "Do you think we could stop in SC for a bit?" Tami said, "Maybe."

I'll bug her even more now.

Fireworks?  Around July 4th or the New Year's you can't swing a dead cat, or even a live one, without hitting a stand.  January, however, might be a little more difficult.  I'll see what I can find.  What's the shelf life on those?  If worse comes to worse maybe I can pick some up before hand and hold them for you.  Just a thought.

I'll also mull the food question around.  I guess it depends on your trajectory and such.  The close you come to the Charleston area the easier it gets to find some good food.

I'll tell you this: you come close, I'll make the rest of the distance to meet up.  Of course, meeting where there actually is something is better than the middle of nowhere!  I know it's still far off, but do you plan to drive through or find a hotel to stop for the night at some point?

We are planning on driving thru. No hotels. If we stop it might be in Georgia. We have family there.

Seriously, who can hold on to fireworks? Once you get them you want to set them off. New Years might be a good time. I'll keep you in the loop.

Keep me posted around January, maybe I can be in the Tampa area visiting some relatives.  I'm in West Palm, so it's a drive to Orlando, but Tampa and Busch Gardens isn't to far from Orlando.

Sorry about your iPod.  Thieves stink.  I love this song.  It makes me laugh because I find the "ha ha"'s laughable which in turn I find ironic and then I laugh and my head explodes.  I've always wanted to see a boobah in action.  Looking forward to the stone tablet being dropped from on high for the beginning of MogWars.

I know we all thought that Sid and Marty Kroft were doing some serious drugs but the folks behind Boobah and Teletubbies are doing something left over from the 80's rave scene.  My son loves Boohbah (which he only gets to watch at  the in-laws), I've always found it odd that they look like uncirumcised penises.

The whole everything about them is bizarre.  Not in a fun way like Yo Gabba Gabba.  More like some nightmarish acid trip.  I'm surprised Boobah hasn't cause any seizures yet.

Man... the only Flipper I got is "Generic" and I love it! I wish I could find this somewhere. A fiend of mine back in high school had a record and I can't remember if it was a 7" or a 12" (record of my favorite blues) but it had an intended scratch at the end of the last song and it would skip and play the last couple of seconds of the song over and over again... I thought it was the coolest thing. I wish I had that vinyl.
