Have You Ever Met Lindsay?

Posted almost 4 years ago
Lindsay is my daughter.

I know she is way to cute. 'Gorgeous', (I usually refrain from using that word unless it is absolutely called for) is a word she hears me say all of the time. I have been in her spell for 4 + years. She is shy, direct, manipulative, playful, empathic, and generally happy all of the time. She has charisma, and she knows it. Twenty years ago if you would have asked me, "Do you like organ music?" I would have said, "Only while skating." My entry into the world of jazz, was a journey taken alone. I got hipped to albums friends and mentors recommended. But mostly, I found what I liked on my own thanks to my local library. I started off listening to, oddly enough, big band music and swing. If the title had jive, swing, or stomp in it I carried that cd from aisle 3 in the AV Section to the checkout and brought it back 2 weeks later (more or less). The library, still the greatest source of 'free music' out there. At any rate, chill to the McGriff sound.I think it's safe to say, "Although Jimmy is no longer with us, it doesn't make him any less immortal." I dare you to sit still for this one.

  2. CeeOhBee says If cuteness=royalty, your daughter would be supreme ruler of all. And, the music is grand. I love organs. All of them.

  3. I am says My stars and garters! Carolyn. Good to see ya back. You were missed. So, any new work? Have something in your head you play over and over? How's life? Did you move yet? Yeah, yeah, she's cute and all, but you don't have to live with her. Pete Fleming said this, "She's a little cupcake baked by the devil."

  4. CeeOhBee says Aaaah, gee, thanks . . . and hey there yourself! Yeah, I do the hokey pokey too much. I put my whole self in, then I put my whole self out. Sorry about that. I have three new works, but still waiting for the recordings. Moving to Chicago this summer. Lots of work to follow soon. I'll let ya know. Life is a bag of nuts. As for kids being cuter if they aren't your own, please, tell me something I don't know. The reason you never see kids around me is because, well, I eat my young. . . (cue creepier organ music here . . . say, the now cliche but effective Toccata and Fugue in D Minor/J.S. Bach.)

  5. Groon says Chris, she is indeed way too cute for words. And I'm suspecting she is quite aware of that fact, too, right? I meant to say this before midnight, but time got away from me, but happy birthday!

  6. CeeOhBee says Well, I think the proof is right up there in picture #1. A kid who pinches her own cheeks TOOOOTALLY knows she's a cutiepie. She works it.

  13. deadmandeadman says Chris, Your daughter is indeed beautiful. She's so lucky to have two parents who care for her, and who will raise her with respect, teaching her respect. All else follows from that.

  16. amber says I posted about my own kid and was linked to yours...and Lindsey is absolutely, amazingly adorable. And, I certain, a handful, but a handful of the best possible type. It's scary when they are sweet even when they are sassy, isn't it?

  17. amber says whoops, sorry for misspelling her name. I hit "publish" and went up for another look at the pictures (because how do you resist?) and saw my mistake.
