WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Independent Internet Radio AKA 'Pirate Stations', Gorillaz, And Classic Manga ....

    68 State/Soundcheck (Gravity) (Crooked Dub)

These are the three things on my mind tonite as I sit here and stare at the blank space I'm trying to fill but never will.

The Gorillaz have been in heavy rotation lately. 'Soundcheck (Gravity)' is like having mono without all of the nasty sick bits to contend with. This heavy track and '68 State' were my soundtrack for the ride home at lunchtime today. Shuffle, Play! That's how I roll.

I mean, Holy Shit! that's an ass load of beat. Just beware of the good times up front because they will bite you in the end. These 2 tracks together are psychological torture. Press play and enjoy the ride.

I once had a dream. An Internet Radio Dream. A dream where I had my own blogspace and request driven music 24/7. I realized this dream for about 9 months. I was big in Holland, Colorado, and Vermont. My jazz played well overseas where ska and punk played in the States. I owe it to tastes and timezones and due to limitations on bandwidth vs. quality I buried that dream with a hundred others and now I am here. With you. Trying to make sense of the blank space I once had but have no more. I am still on MOG though. Playing my music in a strange staccato of fits and starts. Don't worry, even with 3 out of 4 cylinders firing I will still get you home to tuck you in. Then make a slow retreat. Poof.
Thanks to 'Glorious Noise' for dropping the news that will keep it buried a little while longer. Follow the thread.

I've been watching 'One Piece' alot. I can't remember who recommended it but whoever you are I thank you. Fantastic story line and not your son or daughters anime. Not for young kids but 17-18 on up I think it's fine. You can try to stop your kids from saying the bad words but you can't stop them from hearing them. No matter how hard you try.
Anyway it's pure story driven enjoyment. You absolutely can't wait for the next episode/volume/issue.
Always satisfying, leaving you wanting more. You find yourself craving it. 20 to 28 days is too long to wait. You gotta to have it now.

That's it. 'Good Night' to all and 'Good Morning' to others

....An oddly enjoyable read at 7:40 AM, Chris.  As usual I'm gonna take one innocuous from the whole thing & expound endlessly & stentorily on it ad nauseum.  You say....

"You can try to stop your kids from saying the bad words but you can't stop them from hearing them. No matter how hard you try."

....I need this concept of "bad words" explained to me. I know there's an ever shifting vocabulary of unacceptable words based on context & company, but words are neutral, no? When my children were young they were "allowed" to say "shit" if they were in fact talking about fecal matter, u know?  But as a pronoun? (hey! get that shit outta here!!)  totally unacceptable because it represented lazy speech & lack of vocabulary.

Having said all that..........I know exactly what you mean.

I followed early today, and must say - I signed that petition...but not sure if those rates help the kind of "pirate radio" envisioned.
Never policed the offspring vocab much. Now, when my son tells me to f**k off, I just flip him the finger and smile. it works that way.
"One Piece" you say? sounds like something to check on while I wait for "Chldren of Earth/Torchwood" to make it round
mmm, Gorillaz, Gorillaz, what's left of the gang's all here!!

That internet radio shit just pisses me off. Thanks a **** Chris! But that is great that you had it together for a bit. It defies logic why the terrestrials pay less. Great amiable read though.
