I Am Starting To Get A Complex or As Troy Says "My Kanye West Moment" .......

I feel as though I have been hitting a stride as of late. Writing posts about the Constitution, current events, Pirate Day and my all time fave writer I have recieved excellent feedback back from the Mog community at large. I have been spreading Mog love and goodwill all over the place. I have even been called "disgustingly kind" by someone (tanks BTW). *So what else do I have to do to become a featured Mogger on the MOG home page?* I post and comment on a fairly regular basis. I try to engage and not alienate. There are great songs (so I thought) on every one of my posts. So what if I don't do reviews, there are a few out there who do and they are way better than I am. I try my best to be thoughtful. I try my best to be a good neighbor. And I certainly try my best to be a good Mogger. I know in my heart that it is not really important. I have only checked that section recently. I found folks who haven't posted a blasted thing since joining, brand new comers, and Moggers who haven't logged in since the blizzard of '83 (do you really think they will be coming back?). So why do I do this ... this MOG thing?I am sorry, but I can't help but feel slighted.All right I'll get off the box, but before I do, I want to say,"I really dig you people."

    The Serenity Vortex says I am dude, I totally agree with you, I know you are not demanding to be a featured mogger, but that you are pointing out the seemingly 'random' way in which it happens. I don't expect to be a featured mogger, as I am a musical artist here on MOG and that may be viewed as unfair publicity by other music making moggers. But I still understand your frustration and curiosity at how it works, and agree that the hardcore of MOG should get the recognition of what they bring to the site. There is a new look MOG on the way, and a number of changes set to happen soon, plus new recruits to the MOG team so maybe there will be some re-working of other areas of the site. I still see MOG as being in it's early stages, and really do feel that it will eventually tweaked enough to sort out these things. Hang in there dude!! ;)

I like not having my knees broken and my eyes scratched out. Danny, 2/3 a day. Could you really take twice as much of me? I honestly think my head would explode and I would turn into a serious rage machine. Flood, I am You and You are Me (PWEI). Thanks for articulating what I failed to convey. Your right, I am not demanding, and truth be known, if it happened any time soon it would feel like "a sympathy lay" kinda situation. I'd like to know the criteria and be able to match it. They (the Mog Bosses) probably flip a coin or something.

    Dale says I seem to recall that a big part of the equation for "most popular" and "featured MOGgers" is how many people visit your MOG page. That would certainly explain how ?uestlove, who maybe entered one post, is still one of the most popular MOGgers; people keep checking out his MOG page to see what he listens to. Otherwise, Anna, fistula and you would be well high on the list.

Never got a T-shirt or anything being the "self declared Mogger of the week", but it was one of the best responses I ever got from the Mog-o-verse. Looks like it's gotten you to #1 for the next day or so. The funniest part (if you remember) was the title was "I am the Self Declared Mogger of the Week" of which I wondered how many would think it was a post about you (and I few caught the play on words too, though it was unintentional on my part). You've got my vote for some of the most engaging political discussions on here! Oh yeah, and I like your music posts too.

Really though I think I'm with others. I don't think it's that big o' deal. I was Mogger of the week a reeeaaallly long time ago tho. I wouldn't say it brought me hordes of adoring fans. I might have gotten around ten new trusteds. As far as being featured on the front page I gave up on that long ago. If I was ever on it before I never noticed. Just write posts, chat with people, and pass on some seriously good tunes. That's why most of us are here anyway. I'll second soulrockets nomination. Your good stuff dude.

These things are like most awards whether it's the Grammys or Employee of the Week: start sucking up to the powers that be. Make a million posts about how great Mog is, drool over Mew, UNKLE, the Artic Monkeys or some other "it" band and for heaven's sake stop being eclectic! As you can see, I will never make it to Mogger of the Week, but this place is just an occasional stop on the Web for me. I found it didn't live up to the hype, though there is some cool music and people here, namely you!

I yearn for litle more love sometimes, but hey it's only MOG, and in the end I get what I need and keep clicking back. I don't go everywhere on the web, so I'm no expert, but so far this is the only place I can stand coming to every day.
