Sometimes its nice to step out of time and into another dimension, a dimension of aural delights where time collapses in on itself and flowers omnidirectionaly. A dimension of endless "nows" floating in the plasma of creativity.
The easy brilliance of this performance so perfectly illustrates a side of Ms Fitzgerald that's often overlooker by casual fans. Her phrasing & tone throughout are stunningly understated, with a lithe facile timbre & a "smile in her voice". This performance should serve as a textbook for today's divas who do not seem to understand that in order to shine their brightest they must make the song the star, without obliterating the melody in a vain attempt to demonstrate how "talented" they are.
