Lucky Boys Confusion

Artist:
Alright, well, in my last post you heard me mention them, now your going to hear me explain them. Lucky Boys Confusion is punk/rock band out of Chicago that has been around for a couple of years now. I've been listening to them for four or so years, and own two full length albums by them - Throwing the Game, Commitment - as well as there recently released EP, How to Get out Alive. Throwing The Game is a wonderfully punk album, with rap and ska influences. Some of my favorite songs ever come off of this album (Saturday Night, City Lights, Bossman.)Commitment is a heavier album, more akin to rock than punk, and lacking the 'variety' provided by Throwing The Game (with the exception of Sunday Afternoon, featuring reggae icon Half Pint.) The album is a tad more downbeat than Throwing The Game, but not so much that it's depressing. Highlights of this album are Broken, very much a rock song, and Ordinary, a bouncy song featuring fantastic lyrics and a guitar to match. How To Get Out Alive continues the trend towards rock music. With 5 songs (including a cover of Dramarama's Anything, Anything.) it provides only 16 minutes of music, making it short but sweet. This album is also a touch more downbeat than the last, to the point where the band is beggining to fringe upon my definition of emo, however is still too much rock to be truly so. Well, there you go, you now know everything about Lucky Boys Confusion that I do.
