I'm far from beeing a specialist for Kraftwerk, I only know maybe five to ten tracks of them. But what I heard reminds me a lot of the much younger electro artist Anthony Rother, which I knew before Kraftwerk. Rother is IMHO much closer to Kraftwerk than any other modern electro artist with his kind of old-school electro.
I got his second album "Simulationszeitalter" about eight years ago and was quite impressed. At that time I was still listening primarilly to Drum'n'Bass, so Electro was something that was far, far away in space and time. It was long before the new wave of electro swapped over Germany flushing artists like Phonique, Tiefschwarz or Moonbootica at the top of the club charts.

A friend showed me this album in his car, and it was an immediate hit for me. Not only the atmosphere, that this music produces was up my alley, also his texts are unusual for Electro: quite political, but not exaggeratedly pathetic.
He does not want to convince anyone of his opinion, which remains unclear regarding the texts, but rather stimulate discussion about the impact of high technology on our live. And as the texts are quite interesting, here's the translation:
Databank / Nuklearer WinterDurch die simulation versucht der mensch sich der verantwortung für die realität zuentziehen.__Through simulation man tries to deprive himself of responsibility for reality.__Die macht des versuches ohne bezug zur wirklichkeit bestimmt seine epoche am ende des zwanzigsten jahrhunderts.__The power of trial/test without reference to reality determines his epoch at the end of the twentieth century.__Medizinische eingriffe von computern, kriege am rechner, digitale erfassung desmenschen sowie die globale vernetzung sind nur ein bruchteil dieser errungenschaften.__Medical invasion of computers, wars at computers, the digital capture of man as wellas the global networking are only a fraction of these achievements.__Nicht alles davon ist schlecht, aber einigesdient dem bösen...__Not everything of that is bad, but some serves the evil ...__
