I don't know, if anybody wrote before in MOG something about Machine Head, as the MOG search function doesn't work at the moment, but I would guess that this is the case.
Anyway, if I'm remembering right, this was the last metal album, that I bought somewhen around '95 or '96 before I turned my back to metal.I just read that it was quite successful in Europe, but less in the U.S.. When I bought it hardly anyone around me knew Machine Head and I bought it because of a very good review in some magazine. They call it Trash Metal and I remember that I took those guys really serious - texts, which I only unterstood halfways, but their attitude towards society came right through. I was young and mad at society back then. The time when this album was released was also the time when HipHop still was a no-go area for me. When I saw the first Snoop Dogg music videos on MTV, I had more the impression of him as of a buffoon than of somebody that anybody could ever take serious. Metal has gone for me - maybe it's coming back right now? - but the attitude towards gangster rap somehow has survived my musical reorientation. As I'm not at home right now, I can't post mp3s, but I found two Youtube videos on this album.Machine Head - Davidian (sadly the end is cut off)Machine Head - Death Church (live)Enjoy the anger.
