For me the question is rather rethoric. It certainly can and does. But many men are tendentially put off by dark female voices, at least that is my personal experience. I feel a bit like a outsider with the opposite opinion. The voice of Asia Argento on the feature track for example gives me goose bumps. Her voice is pure sex to me.

Usually human voices are just another instrument to me. I hate the stardom around the singer and find it completely inadequate as often the singers are not the producers, the composers, the musical masterminds who have the compositonal ideas and make the music what it is.

But in this case, I had to find out, as I wanted to see the face to the voice. I didn't know Asia Argento before by name, though I might have seen the triple X movie, where she acted in - I'm not sure about that. But she's hell cute IMHO. And she has a voice, that feels like somebody scrubbing against the fur ... provocating, challenging.

If you're like me and didn't know Asia before, here's a video of here for "Live fast Die Old"

Check out some other tracks from the album at > Fistulas. This album was my latest obsession, must have heard it a thousand times.

I'm not sure any singer could fullfill the expectations you raise.  I hear only whispers.  Is she gonna sing at all?

The vid is interesting, but....

You sure made me want to hear this though, nicely worded my man.

Sensual voice, indeed. The darker the better, dear Hermes, this goes for everything, as far as I'm concerned :)

deadmman: You're right, the title of this post was a bit sensational. In "Il Gatto" they even put a Vocoder on her voice, what I usually don't like. But I like the whispers though. She doesn't really sing, never on the entire album ;). But I like it a lot. Another example for a dark female voice would be Grace Jones, or Hildegard Knef.

Anna: You hit the point, the darker the better :). Sometimes I also like angelic voices.

Artist: Album: Pulver Records Label Compilation 01 Track:
Other Tags: (Deep) House, acid jazz, Acid Funk, Nu Funk

Some Moggers had complained that there's hasn't been so much electronic around on MOG recently. My Wired Wednesday posts got rare lately due to my travels - often without internet access but much more due to the lack of disc space. I'll get a external hard disc soon, than this problem should be solved.

Instead of presenting an artist, I'd like to present a whole label today, as the posted music stems from a label compilation. Apart from that Pulver Records doesn't have so many releases yet. The label, situated in Stuttgart, was founded in 2001 by the guys from Dublex Inc. and was supposed to be a platform for their own records in the first place. It didn't stay like this and meanwhile they host also other artsts like the Dutch Rhythm Combo (the feature track), Inverse Cinematics, DJ Angola or Erik Sumo.

The musical spectrum ranges from (Deep) House to Acid Jazz and what some call Nu Funk.

The compilation gives quite a good overview regarding the released music, and I don't regret having bought it some years ago.

Of 'Bonaire' exist meanwhile several remixes, one of which you can also find on Youtube. What you hear here is the original.

While doing a small investigation on Pulver Records I found this new track of Inverse Cinematics on Youtube. It says that this track was released by another label, so I'm not sure if Inverse Cinematics is still with Pulver Records.

Enjoy the tracks, more in the comments.

This weekend the legendary Notting Hill Carnival will take place once more - the first time for me though. So if any of the London based Moggers wanna join or have a good insider tip for me - drop me a note.

>Here's a quite nice warmup mix from Norman Jay for the Time Out magazine. The first track from the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble hit me immediately.

How does it come that I didn't know this guy before? Seems to be a big one in Londons music scene.
