I don't think I can do it anymore. I try every year to get in the Christmas spirit and lately I always fail. I thought this year was going to be different but ever since Thanksgiving life has been finding ways to slowly beat me down. Today it definitely won.
What I truly desire at this time of year is to go party at a friend's house, get drunk, set something on fire, fall down, smoke too many cigarettes, laugh really loud and fall asleep in front of the CD player after spending hours singing along to my friend's entire music collection.
This seems so simple and yet it never happens anymore.
I am hopeful a good night's sleep will help make things better.
