WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Art 'n' Syd

Posted over 3 years ago
Legend has it that the late Syd Barrett - yes, he actually was alive all these years, up until about a week ago - might have copped some heavy-ass riffage for 1967's "Interstellar Overdrive" from Arthur Lee and Love's punkified version of "My Little Red Book" (off their 1966 debut LP). Listen to them side b' side...decide for thine own self...and God bless the hell outta both those cats. RIP Syd, and I hope Arthur won't be following you any damn time soon.

  2. Heli0tr0pe says Hey! My first comment...and I thank ya. Anyway, I think it is indeed so...totally different songs but the descending chord pattern (if that's what it's called - I don't play me no geetar myself) resonates through both tunes.

  4. Heli0tr0pe says Yeah, well...Arthur ended up following Syd pretty damn soon after all. By about two and a half weeks, in fact. Heavy days for psychedelic freaks...
