This is an album I adore, and sometimes I feel guilty about it...but I hereby admit to my adoration, in public, for the very first time.
I said "sometimes" I feel guilty, because most of the time I honestly believe this 1992 album is a big, brawny bitch of a symphonic rock masterpiece. Of course it gets zero respect from mainstreamers, indies or anyone else, dismissed as a post-Nirvana hair-metal relic. Hell, the thing isn't even in print anymore, and used copies average about $1.50. But the people who love it really do embrace it - look at the album's page on Amazon for proof - and that's what I'm talkin' 'bout right now...What's your guiltiest pleasure? Singer, song, band or album? The one that you blast in the car - alone, windows rolled up - but probably nowhere else? The one you could never admit to loving, and if you did you'd barely be able to get the words out for all the embarrassed shivering and blushing? Moreover, do you love it despite knowing it kinda sucks - or do you believe, deep down, that it's great and underrated and everyone else just doesn't get it?Guilty pleasures are among life's greatest, I think. So come on, MOGgers, everyone's got one...now admit it!
