What song would you blast while quiting your job with style?

Posted over 4 years ago
I just came across this video the other night. What an inspiring piece and perfect timing for me to relate. For those of you who haven't seen it...I think it's worth the watch. You know some of the workers started to get a bit scared after a few minutes between the humor and insanity there's a fine line. Okay so I relate because I dislike my job. It's paying the bills, I'm able to have a good time on the weekends and go on vacations and such but I continue to envy people that are doing what they love to do. How wonderful does that feel! So for those of you who *do* love how you spend your workweek, then *CHEERS* to you! But did you ever have a job that was just sucking your soul away. What song(s) would you blast on the soul sucking boss when you finally say..."I QUIT!" (I'm not the type to burn my bridges, but we can dream right. I'll just be humming the tune when I hand over the letter in reality.) Here's the clip... Some of my considerations...Beastie's _Funky Boss_Beck's _Soul Sucking Jerk_ The Dead Kennedy's version of _Take This Job & Shove It_ (that brings on the laughs every time but I'd never have the nerve for that one). Faith No More's _Get Out_Maybe a familiar song would be best for the presentation?Talking Head's Once In A Lifetime...I Can't Get No Satisfaction...

  7. MasonJar says "I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts" by X comes to mind. I could just see myself in my boss's office (well, I'm a stay-at-home dad, so we'll say my wife's office), my eyes closed way too tightly, my hands pressing in on the sides of my head as I drool and mutter, "I must not think bad thoughts...I must not think bad thoughts..."

  18. HelenMarie says HAHA! "Are you counting in your head?" That's mutha ucking great! I'm in the ATM business and that bit in front of it and with the camera was fantastic. Business time made my cheeks hurt! Sorting out the recycling...not part of the foreplay but it's still very important. Should I be ashamed not to know these guys...Who the heck is that. That was my first time.

  19. Lizziegreeneyes says HBOs latest & greatest series... Flight of the Conchords... from New Zealand & positively hysterical... here's another taste for you - this episode is what introduced me to them - now I have to watch all prior episodes - thank the lawd for On Demand. I was told this was one of the least impressive of the series !!! That's what I am talkin bout :)

  20. HelenMarie says That's good stuff! Damn the good shows on the premium channels. I used to get HBO a while ago for my sex & the city fix & on demand was *the* best. I might have to go for it again, entertainment can be so costly sometimes. Thanks for hooking me up with these guys!

  24. HelenMarie says indiepix- I have a confession-I had incorporated my name into the screen name when I first signed in here but thought I was just registering for a modest mouse contest (get their newsletters and it was just a link) after I roamed around a bit I was like I *really* want to join this _mog_ thing. So I had to start over with the name thing. Quite a fine pick yourself-dig. Good Luck at V Fest!!! ; ) Hey there poebe G~ wonderful Ani pick. she's got that mellow anger i love so much about women. I really wish I would've added this Beck track to the post but I didn't want to edit, so I'm just gonna put it up if you don't mind. This is a great story within and the beats are kickin'. ~mT457Yj8gsc.mp3~

  27. vannatta says awesome post - and Popeye Pete gets a trusted listing just for his quitting anthem - I'm self employed, so I would probably have to think about that one - although I must say, if I fired myself, I probably wouldn't be any kinder... cheers!
