WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

That's Entertainment

Posted over 3 years ago
Yesterday after a day of doctor's appointments and medical procedures with my 15 year old, I saw that need to put some fun and lightness in her day. Lately, too many of these days have been all about white coats, needle pokes and toxic medecines that have made her hair fall out. So I bundled her up and took her to see the new Will Ferrell movie, Stranger Than Fiction. Better than any medecine, it was a SPOONfull of sweetness:1. Will Farrell 2. Music by Britt Daniels of Spoon fame 3. The Jam's Classic "That's Entertainment" featured in a pivotal sceneI'm looking for a list of movies with great soundtracks that shine light and happiness in their wakes. If laughter really is the best medecine, what would you give your baby?...

  1. lemontwist says I'm racking my brain for some good ones... I'd have to go 80s style and suggest Real Genius or Better Off Dead. I hope the best for your girl, lots of love and good vibes, hope she recovers soon! :)

  2. Viva La Britt says Argh, if it so many of the songs/jokes weren't so naughty I'd vote for _Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery_. I don't think the soundtrack is so remarkable, but _Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind_ tells a great story (same goes for _Life is Beautiful or _Amelie_ if you and the daughter dig foreign language films). As for current releases....maybe _Little Miss Sunshine_? I wish the best for your princess and your family and hope that white coats and needles soon become a part of her past.

  4. LostSouthernHeat says Thnx, will go to see it. I like a good movie with a good sound track, I like a bad movie as long it has a good sound track

  5. HarrySue says A friend in the Academy gave me their copy of Little Miss Sunshine which was great cause we were in the thick of things when it came out and couldn't see it in the theater... She LOVES Austin Powers haven't seen it in a while, but maybe we should see it again. And I never thought of the Eternal Sunshine... but I think she would get a kick out of it. We saw Real Genius in the hospital. She now officially has a big crush on the young Val Kilmer.
