De Burgh Sees Red! Classic Popstar v Reviewer Spat Ensues

There's nothing quite like a good old fight between a Popstar and his Reviewer. 60 year old Pop veteran Chris De Burgh saw red after reading a review of a recent live show at the Gaiety Theatre. The Irish Times reporter Peter Crawley was less than impressed and wrote a biting article. Of De Burgh he said "This man is Chris de Burgh. You may have heard of him. The name alone summons a rush of associations, some of which carry a shudder, few of which fail to draw a smile."

An incensed De Burgh wrote a lengthy reply that has been printed in full in today's edition. He finishes the letter with a vitriolic swipe.

"We were wondering by way of explanation and as you seem to portray yourself as a bitter and unfulfilled man, were you much teased by your school chums in the schoolyard and called "Creepy Crawley"? I think we should be told!"
