Just by chance, I did. And I was very pleased, too, because those are two musical acts I've heard a lot about on MOG but hadn't heard yet. Goldfrapp was on Jay Leno, and although I've heard snippets here and there this was the first time I got to hear a whole song. I couldn't tell you what song it was, but it was cool. Even cooler and more interesting was the visual aspect. The whole band was wearing white clothing/robes, etc (think Luke Skywalker in the original, if that helps). Some very flowery sorts of dancing going on, a guy playing key-tar (don't see a lot of those these days), and a great song made it very enjoyable. I think I'm going to have to go out and purchase something.
She and Him were on Conan. I've really been wanting to see and hear them because of Zooey Deschanel. I think she's a great actor, has been in several films I love, and seems like an all around interesting person. A fact that has to come through in her music, right?
What I was not expecting, however, was her voice. Where did that come from? It sounds nothing like her talking voice, which is a little on the whiny. nasal side IMO. Her singing voice, though, is very deep and sexy. The music was pretty good. Again, I couldn't tell you what song they played, but it was good. I'd listen to it again. Yo La Tengo was their backing band (is it always like that?). I was a bit annoyed by the fact that there were two drummers. Not that I have anythign against two drummers, but they played the same thing the whole song. Why? What's the point? But that's another post.
Anyway. Just curious if anyone out there watched this, and if there's anyone with more knowledge who can fill int he rather sizable gaps I left behind.

Big Goldfrapp fan here....I'll have it to catch it over at youtube. She always makes sure her live performances have a theatrical touch :)

Here are some songs/videos for you to check out, if you feel like it. Strict Machine Ooh La La Number One And one from her new album {more folk this one}, called A&E.
The theatrical flavour I mentioned above is something she always carries with her, whether it's a live performance, or a music video or anything else. :)
