WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

#9 . . . and Something Blue

Posted 11 months ago

4th post today! I'm making up for a lost day, plus trying to get a little ahead now and then, since I'll most likely be away the last week of the month a good bit.

Anyway, this post ties a couple of earlier posts together, in a more or less haphazard way. I mentioned in an earlier post a little about the history of King's X and what they went through, both as a band and personally. I also mentioned in my last post that I had bought exactly two albums that were actually released in 2008. One was the Don Caballero album posted on earlier. The other was King's X's new album, XV. As the name suggests, this is their fifteenth album. Sort of. It's actually only their twelfth studio album, but with a best of and two live albums, it works out as their fifteenth, so there you go. Over the years their sound has changed in many ways. They started out hard rock with a twinge of hair metal, went grunge in the mid 90s, changed to a more groove-oriented sound after that, and the last few albums have been more or a less a return to their earlier, hard-leaning years. Without the hair.

This is the second track on the album, "Blue."
