Ever have a song come along and re-kick you in the pants?

So I'm listening to my favorite King's X album tonight, Dogman, and I come across this song. Now, I've heard this song hundreds of times, and completely loved it every time. It's not a new song for me, and not one that until now has never really connected with me. But for some reason, tonight . . . it took me to another level. I was driving along, singing at the top of my lungs, almost running off the road I was enjoying it so much. I don't know why the difference, but tonight it just hit like a ton of bricks.
It also has some of my favorite lyrics in it, as well (see below).
Ozone disapperaing in the sky
Bud man asking us why ask why
If I could find my magazine this bug would die
I complain
China boy standing up to a tank
Southern boy living in the house of yanks
If I can't seem to get my motorbike to crank
I complain
Complain so much easier
Small kid begging for a crumb of bread
Next kid bloated lying nearly dead
I wonder what to take for my aching head
I complain
Lots of people crying for a little rain
Whole nation learning how to live with pain
I don't know how I'm gonna clean this little stain
I complain.
Complain so much easier
Black man singing Mississippi blues
Africa starves a little baby drools
I'm trying to figure out all the basketball rules
I complain
Mr. Rush Limbaugh giving me the facts
Treetops falling and the newsman yaks
I'm thinking about Carter and how I'm gonna be
Taxed
Hey
Complain so much easier

I think this is one of the best songs on their last great album! I feel exactly this way lots of times!
Agreed. I've liked most of what they've done since, but Dogman was the last of their truly great albums.
love this song and band
faith hope and love is stil my fav?
erm hold on...
yup STILL my fav ;p
Shattering my perception that there are only about a dozen good bands in the world. Now what do I do?
I'm there with you, pimp. FHL is my fave too. I've stated before that that one there is more than an album, it's an event.
sorry, capndad, didn't see your comment before now. All I can say is this--get yourself some King's X. Pronto! Any of the first five albums are excellent, but these two, dogman and faith, hope, love, are worth their weight in gold.
wait a tick . . . I just realized I contradicted myself and claimed both of these albums as my favorite. Crap! Now I gotta choose . . .
On further review, I'm going to have to declare it a tie.
if it doesnt happen to me once or twice a week I would hang up the earphones
To clean that little stain...
All he needs to do is use a little seltzer water and a clean dry towel. Make sure to use a circular clockwise motion when working the seltzer water into the stain. Hey presto...stains gone.
Now isn't that easier then just complaining about it..
While that is pretty easy, I think that complaining might still be a little easier than that, seeing as how it only involves talking. Just a thought.
(Nice tip, though)
I guess I'm just more of a do-er than a talker.
Fine. Be your own person, then!
Fine...I will be my own person.
Here I am...tra-la-la...standing here being my own person.
Gosh, it's lonely being my own person.
Don't be lonely . . . I'll be my own person with you. (But I'm more of a talker)
