In honor of Oatmeal's new arrival, and with burgeoning expectations on my own end (no, not another kid for the Groonster, but my sister is expecting her first in November. This was a hard-fought pregnancy, believe me) I figured I'd issue another installment of my random Talking Heads in Real Life series. This one is about babies.
The 1985 album Little Creatures saw the Heads move away from the more tribal, ethnic-laced songs of the past three albums and embark on a much more American-inspired outing. It's not my favorite, but it did have a couple of good songs, including the hit "And She Was," "Television Man," and this one, "Stay Up Late." I don't really care for this video, but the song is still great.
