5 from King's X, part 5: And the Beatles said . . .

Posted over 4 years ago
Okay, last one. Maybe 5 is too much for one night, but when the music is this good you gotta go where it takes you. There are three songs that are basically required at a King's X show. I've already posted two of them, (numbers 2 and 3 of my postings, for those of you keeping score at home). This is the third. Back to Faith, Hope, Love again for what is one of my all time songs by any band, ever. Not only does this song rock, but it's got a great groove section in the middle that changed it up. Add on a fantastic, math-rock friendly ending (that always is fun live as they play it PERFECTLY without even looking at each other) and you have King's X at its very best.Enjoy!

  1. Doomsayer2001 says Awesome song! I love the breakdowns mixed up with the technical riffs interspersed with the double bass and vocal harmonies.

  2. Groon says Exactly. As much as I like King's X just hitting a riff and sticking to it, the change ups in this song are what really make it something special.

  3. Lordmorpheus says i was wondering if you were going to get to this song.. my favorite part of this song live is dUg just going crazy on stage. however, you failed to mention my second favorite live song.. "Visions." what a great live performance by dUg!

  4. Groon says You knew I had to get to it at some point. I seriously considered Visions, as well as Vegetable, but wanted to get the essential three in, as well as something from Dogman. And listening to Moanjam inspired me to do the posts in the first place. But it's here now! I love watching Jerry play. He sits so upright and stiff, yet plays like an octopus.
