5 from King's X, part 3: Goldilox and the three Texans

Going back to their first album, Out of the Silent Planet, brings this standout track. This is another of the concert staples, and is an example of their "softer" side. Check out the bass solo halfway through. Subtle yet beautiful.

  4. Groon says Do you prefer this version, or the newer one? Yer gonna make me blush! You're welcome. I'm the same way. I can't imagine NOT listening to this band. How much life would suck without them.

  5. Lordmorpheus says iy really depends on the mood. but i do find my self listening to the live version most often, then the "Reprise" version, then the original. There's just something about dUg's voice on the Reprise version that haunts me.

  8. Marigold says brilliant song. I rocked this song in the cassate player many times back in the day. This is the other Kings X cd I own. Great selection. The vocal harmonies are incredible. Thanks.

  9. Groon says Well, you certainly picked two of the greats to keep. Your welcome. I think this song is one of the unknown classics, personally. It's a shame so few people know it.

  12. Marigold says Hold back the Wind Donna would be my SE selection. Not sure if that is a ballad though. Maybe a gentle rock song. :)

  13. Groon says That's my favorite off that album, though. But, yeah, probably not a ballad. You could stick "Billy Graham" on there as a bonus track, though!

  15. Groon says I know what you mean. There was a stretch of time where this song and "The Burning Down" off of Gretchen were instrumental in keeping me sane.
