B.B. King brings Lucille to Hampton
-
Artist:

Got the chance to see the King of Blues last night at the Casino Ballroom in Hampton, NH. 82 years old and still going strong. I'd say he spends about 1/3 of the time talking in between songs, but it didn't get old, he's a funny guy. Nice to see a living legend so down to earth. The man can still play. He has a more than capable backing band that does most the dirty work with BB normally coming in at the end of each song. Next up, Buddy Guy(Sun 8/17 Boston). I could get used to closing out weekends with Blues legends.
Set list was something like this:
I Need You So
Everyday I Have the Blues
Blues Man
When Love Comes to Town
All Over Again
You are My Sunshine
Nobody Loves Me but My Mother
Rock Me Baby
The Thrill is Gone
Guess Who

Hey man -
I just wanted to say that it's AWESOME that you saw B.B. I saw him on his 80th b-day tour and it was one of the best nights of my LIFE.
You like the blues?
And, do you live in the midwest at all?
. . . just curious.
Sincerely,

That 80th b-day was supposed to be his farewell tour right? I'm glad it didn't turn out to be, I'm psyched I finally had the chance to see him.
Love the blues. How can you not, right? I just got my tickets to see Buddy Guy next wknd. I keep missing him when he comes around, so I'm really looking forward to that one. I'll never forgive myself for missing him play with Mick Taylor last summer.
I'm living in Lynn, MA which is about 15 minutes outside Boston.
I would love to see him once just to say I had. Kudos for the concert trip
He's a busy man so I'm sure you'll get your chance Rawk. Nothn for MN yet but I just saw that he's adding dates to this tour already.

I checked right after reading your post and am kicking myself because he came to one of our casinos not to long ago
