Digging through my digital collection I realized I have four different versions of one of my favorite Neil Young songs, Cowgirl in the Sand. There's the studio version, from Everybody Knows this is Nowhere, and three live versions, two of which are acoustic. They're a fascinating study on contrasts, the Massey Hall version quite and introspective, that from 4-way Street much more emotionally varied and impassioned, and the incendiary version at Fillmore East w/ Crazy Horse.
First, the original, then I'll post the others in the comments.

One of my fave Neil Young songs ... Still remember listening to "Rockin' in the Free World" and "Fuckin' Up" all the time during my middle school/high school days, and then my Dad telling me that if I was after great Neil Young guitar playing, I should wrangle up Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere ... I did, and I've been HOOKED ever since.

That is a great song. I think I like the Fillmore version the best. What are the years these each came out?
