Nonesuch

"Nonesuch Records":http://nonesuch.com/store/index.cfm has relaunched its site with an interesting twist- when you buy a physical CD, they'll ship it to you, and provide you with immediate access to DRM-free 320k downloads. kind of cool, but also betwixt and between. one wonders why they didn't just go whole hog and offer a lossless option, saving the cost of shipping the physical product.stiill, unlike rhapsody the site appears to be available worldwide, and the do have an extremely eclectic catalog.

  3. Grievous Angel says B-mon, it's not a pervasive as it should be, but some to check out are: "Linn Records":http://www.linnrecords.com/ check out the Mackerras Mozart Requiem "itax":http://itrax.com/ the "live music archive":http://www.archive.org/details/etree search for david gray in hamburg, and little feet at ulrasonic studios "music giants":http://www.musicgiants.com an expanding catalog, getting a lot of press. i think they have some FLAC content, but mostly Windows Lossless, which is a sort of de facto DRM. there must be others?
