WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Sept. Covers – #30

Posted over 3 years ago
A different cover song each day of the month. This one's not really a cover, per se, but I couldn't think of a better way to wrap up this experiment. Diamond Dave en Español is my cover song magic bullet. Thanks to everyone who listened and took the time to comment. I'm gonna slow down on the Mogging for a while now, as I savor the ups and downs of new parenthood. BTW, Eno's _Music for Airports_ is great for putting babies to sleep._song deleted_

  1. champy says Don't slow down mogging!!!! Please, by the way, how is Eno's "Music for Airports" for putting adults to sleep? Lately I have been trying to find some good sleepy sleepy time music because Champy can't get no zzzzzzzz!

  2. Greg says Yeah, Champy, _Music for Airports_ could put grownups down also, although that's not a very flattering description of the record. I don't regularly sleep to music, but if I had to point you towards anything, I'd go with mellower, sparser stuff like _Explosions In The Sky_, _Mogwai_, _The Books_, _Dirty Three_, _Rachel's_, stuff like that. I'm compiling an iTunes playlist that's friendly to tiny ears which has some of the above, plus _Kid Koala_, _Cibo Matto_, _Bjork_, and _The Flaming Lips_ on it. A guy at my work scored an all-instrumental version of _Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots_, which is great sleeping music. I don't know how he came upon it because I've never seen it available anywhere. I guess he's just cooler than everyone else.
